The genius of Animal House is that for all the cartoonishness of it, all the character's are extremely relatable and grounded. Like, it makes perfect sense that Tom Hulce's Pinto is the stand in for the writers even though he's not particularly a joker in the film.

Let me point out that I must have watched Animal House and Caddyshack a gazillion times but only very recently realized the underaged girl from animal house and Scottish Maggie were the same actress.

Wedding Crashers is pretty good, like the first Meet the Parents it gets a lot of mileage for me from playing off upper class wasp families and their traditions and trappings. But its not in the fucking same solar system as Animal House.
