I share similar cinematic Fieg opinions, I dont even really like freaks and geeks, but other space is extremely good and funny. Its more of UCB style humor inside a 90s sitcom format. I like ST mostly as its very much inspired and designed to look like a genre I love, 90's cyberpunk movies like Strange Days and Johnny Mnemonic. If you're not into these I can very much see not finding anything of interest in it.
