and also one that you still see alot of Elmore Leonard in. It doesen't feel "that" much different the Get Shorty or Out of Sight, though I guess those directors, by virture of making crime movies in the late 90's, were also probably influenced by Tarantino alot too.

For real? I've heard it multiple times, on here, podcasts, NPR, that at the very least it should be in the discussion of best rap albums of all time. Some of those might be purposely hyperbolic but I think its a reasonable response from people infatuated with a piece of music and also not really having alot of

i do not get why Hamilton people are so wrapped up into the idea of liking Hamilton. It's like you are being willfully ignorant of the tone of this site's comment section. If you went into a Sopranos article on here or a Shield and expressed your concerns, no one would cry about those shows being picked on. Sopranos

Big fan of Lowenchaffen and I did like that piece alot but I'm perfectly fine ragging on Hamilton just for being incredibly lame musically. The argument against it for historical reasons is sorta lost on me because you can create great historical art that maybe doesn't cover every aspect of that history's politics,

Good point, I hate whaling so I’m gonna write an anti-Melville piece right now.

So I was off by 3, and 1 in the last 120 years.

Exactly, people think that having only two choices for president makes everyone mad should imagine what it would be like if 74% of the country didnt vote for a president who wins with 26%.

Has someone done the math on if we used this system or some other similar one, how many elections would have different results? Except for 2000, hasn’t every electoral college winner also won the popular vote?

What would be more effective if that were the Norm? The only effect I can think of is that it would impart the association that the journalist has a political belief, which while that’s already assumed, I think having the writer’s party affiliation on the byline so to speak would not be a pro to anything

What is the status of Kinja now? I know that was kinda Denton’s thing but now that you’re at Univision can you all finally admit its literally the worst thing that ever happened to Gawker and it destroyed any chance of developing anything of interest out of the comment section at these sites?

I think I'm wrong, but I always interpreted it as Frank was jealous of the attention Eddie gets from Columbia and the rest of the Transylvanians as opposed to being jealous that Eddie won't give him attention. He doesn't seem to like Eddie's whole schtick at all.

Monty Python

Why you always going on about women, Stan?

I had also always heard that Indian is the preferred nomenclature and that they find Native American to be patronizing. Given the historical and geographically inaccuracy of it, I would have assumed the opposite.

Ha great, though I recall in the commentary for the episode the writers say it wasn’t a reference to anything and was just nonsense.

Reminds me of another inscrutable line: “I’m the first non-Brazilian person to travel through time” from one of the halloween episodes.

The great part is, he paid like what, over $500, for heroin a few hours previous to this

As is the custom of his people

Yea maybe, is your thing against him cause of what he said during the trial?

He was the editor in chief of Deadspin and Gawker, he hired tons of people who went on to huge things in journalism. I'm sure he just doesen't want to owe some asshole 100 million dollars
