I had a 1992 Geo Prism, four door with a 5 speed stick, power door locks and cruise control. It was the first car I bought with my own money and it had 175K on it. Spent $1,500 at the used car dealer, than another $500 for belts, brakes & hoses when I drove it off the dealer lot because they were worn out. After that,

Toledo had their local car show over the weekend. First car I went to... Caddy CTS wagon. A GM rep saw me fawning over it and asked if I liked it. I said "Heck Yeah!" She looked a little surpised that a 40ish dude like myself would even consider a wagon. I said when you have a wife and two kids and all the gear that

You're kidding right? This some sort of Jalopnik movie, put together with reject porno flicks, your kids train sets, Hot Wheels and a $400 cam-corder? Based on what I saw, I wouldn't rent this movie, for FREE, from my local library. It makes Sorority Girls look like freakin' Hamlet.

Overall, not a bad representation of really cool cars that would be a hoot to flog around a virtual race track. I am dismayed that no station wagons made the cut, knowing how much the commitariat loves these particular people movers. The addition of the Omni, Volvo, Saab & the two Ford Cosworths are very appealing.

@gla2yyz: I'd go for something more like this, but hey, Heather's cute too.

1983 Volkswagon Rabbit GTI. Slow but fun is still fun.

@leavethegun-takethecannoli: Love me the Mythbusters. But I think the car would have to be dimpled like they did in the show, with about 1/4 inche divots placed evenly over the surface. This is would have the same effect as the dirty car. Worse areo, less MPG.

@IslanderOffRoad: There was only one, uno, ein, version of the Jeep Cherokee. That's what killed it. They never updated or improved it. Unless you include the Jeep Liberty, there were no "generations" of the Cherokee. It just got old & out dated. Same goes with the Wagoneer.

Always loved Robo Cop.

One: Ford, please order up some 2 door Fiestas post haste, as Honda has let us down. Why buy a CR-Z when the Fit gets similar mileage & is cheaper???

@aids333: That would be the upcoming Ford Fiesta. Smaller, lighter & cheaper.

My first car ride was a mid 1960's Mercury Comet, my parents first new car. Two speed automatic & optional (!) seat belts. My dad had to convince the salesman to have them installed.

It's always good to re-focus your attention to what your good at. No point in trying to be the internet version of Car & Driver. I have a subscription to that mag & Automobile, and thanks to this site, I'm not such an avid reader of them as I used to be.I blame Jalopnik and all its commenters for my endless hours of

@redman042: What? They're better than BK? Come on, really?

Over the weekend, I saw what appeared to be a fairly decent late 80's Saab 900 Turbo in a small used car "dealership". Since the car was unlocked, I hopped in to get my first real taste of that late eighties, what you called hip-ness. I must say, my '86 VW Golf was nicer, but the interior of the Saab, for having 150K

Driving a fast car quickly is definitely fun, but driving a slower car that can break in a catastrophic manner at any moment is downright bone tingling. My car is in need of some serious TLC, but my lack of funds precludes me addressing these issues for the moment (gotta buy presents for the kids). So, I have two 1/2
