Sincere question: is all of the anti-Anonymous rage because you all actually agree with the DMCA and Sony's "hacker witch-hunt" or are you folks just mad because you couldn't play online for a couple nights?

I haven't made it all the way down this very one sided series of comments but yours is the only opinion so far which makes any attempt at all at actually being fair rather than just being angry.
That's not really fair. Would you say that because of Uwe Boll, film cannot be art? Sure you have some random idiots making "feminist apocalypse," but Portal, arguably THE best game ever made (it's certainly in the running at least) is very much a feminist work. If nothing else, games are just as varied as other…
Oh I really like the graphics, I was just explaining why someone might compare it to TF2.
We are probably nearing that point in every reasonable (internet) conversation where our ideologies differ over points that aren't really arguable, but the more we talk about it, the more I have issues with the structure of the laws themselves.
I actually think this is far from analogous to someone directly plagiarizing your work and that's where my issue is with the law. As far as I am aware, Hotz didn't directly break any copyright laws, but rather he violated the part of the DMCA which illegalize acts which could allow others to later more directly break…
I see how that puts Sony at greater risk, but I still don't get the technical difference between teaching how to jailbreak the iPhone versus teaching the same with the PS3. My issue would still be that Hotz is being punished for other people's potential future crimes (even though that punishment is within the law).
It's funny how that is. Especially since, besides really obvious clones, games can be pretty widely varied in a bunch of different respects.
Agreed.
"The special abilities each class can unlock as they progress to make the game feel even more like Team Fortress 2."
No I'm fully aware of it, I just disagree with the fact that it is illegal under copyright law to do something which someone else could potentially use to break copyright laws later on.
Part of what is at issue is that DMCA is aggressively oriented towards corporate rights and there isn't much of a balance on the other end for protecting citizens from corporate economic/litigation power. As I said earlier, I have problems with the way the laws are built and Sony attempting to drive them further in…
I am glad you could make your point without being childishly insulting or openly ignoring the opposition's argument and then touting it as the strong point of your statement.
If I am lacking in the reasons why the two are legally different, please do explain (it might be a more useful act than semi-politely telling a stranger to shut up).
Do you think that someone should be taken to court for jail-breaking their iPhone because that is what Hotz was trying to do. Sony is trying to establish new precedent for how much control a corporation has over its technology after it has been sold. So yes, Hotz is being sued for a reason, but it is a reason I…
Dhalsim's got this. He has taken on the dreaded secret deadly yoga position of "the waiting pubic louse."
THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS!
This guys is at least decent at simulating it, although his claim of "it's a really simple move" confounds me. Then again, I'm not a dancer so maybe it is.
I guess that would make sense for Ryu...
