I really wonder how this will work out for the homeowner. A few Eight years back, there was a house in the Denver area that got destroyed by police tanks and flashbangs trying to get a shoplifting suspect out of a house that he’d broken into. Insurance said it was the police department’s fault, and that they should

Perhaps I am gone astray, but....

Where are you?! And how TF would they not arrest that guy?!

Sadly this will continue until we jail people driving with no license, registration, insurance, id, anything. Jail them till the DVM pulls owner records for the vehicle and can track a valid ID for the person driving. A week or two stay in a lockup should be a fun deterrent.

Three separate troublesome engines, as reported on Jalopnix last year. Here’s the latest. https://jalopnik.com/hyundai-and-kia-will-lose-2-billion-on-fixing-bad-engi-1849671352

As long as the techs know that you realize accidents happen and, provided they’re not being sloppy or repeat offenders, it’s just a part of the business then I’d think they would much rather ‘fess up to the occasional ding than get blamed for a bunch of stuff they didn’t do. Plus it helps you identify the people who

Of course it’s best to purchase based on actual price, but it’s important to be aware of the monthly price. I did a little time in car sales, and I had several people who followed the rule “negotiate on price only,” which I was happy to do. Unfortunately it tended to be something along the lines of “ok, you’ve talked

I’ve heard this from a number of fellow technical people.  You do so well that you get promoted into management and no longer touch the tech and have to deal with people all day.  I wouldn’t last long in that position.

Except nobody, including Checo, was confused about who Max is.  The fans know it, his haters know it, and his teammate sure as shit knows it.  Max is all about Max.  He has normalized being a selfish prick.  It is interesting that articles like this can still exist when anyone who has watched Max for any amount of

IMO the marshal situation was even worse. At least the cars have Halo now but Gasly nearly clobbered the car this dude was tugging.

It’s not just the tractor, there was also a marshal out on track working on a stricken car when Gasly blew past him. Could have easily been a dead marshal even if the tractor wasn’t there. Race control really needs to get on the ball and not let any workers or equipment on track until they’re double sure that the

Yeah, exactly. I couldn’t believe how persistent they were. I kept insisting that I could install it myself and they kept insisting I’d break it for sure and I needed them to install it, and oh wait, you want it over a fireplace? Well that’s extra etc. etc. etc. Then it came out that they didn’t actually have it in

I actually walked out of a Best Buy because they wouldn’t let me just buy the damn TV. They kept adding on stuff at the register. Finally I left and bought the same TV at Target without the hassle.

For the win!!!   ^^^^^^

I’ve never had a long buying process, and it’s weird to me that people seem to have that issue? I walk in, tell them what car I want with what options, they tell me approximately how long it’ll take to be manufactured and delivered, I give them my credit card for a deposit, and I walk out. A few months later I go back

Add Abbot and DeSantis to that and you got a deal!

Similarly big fan of the optional Recaros in the ND Miata. They’re not grand touring seats but then again they’re not supposed to be. They understand the assignment and fit me just right. Adds to the feeling that I’m better connected to the car overall.

We both know why they are pitching it, beyond the iMR grab, walk arounds. You know, what service advisors don’t do 90% of the time.

That movie is so prescient it’s hard to believe.

And I use those shaved minutes to sit here on the AV Club!
