Last update:  Yep damn fine album and it got me in a more poppy mood.  On to Perpetual Groove until the end of the workday I believe...

Caroline Rose is pretty good halfway through.  ‘Do You Think We’ll Last Forever’ is the standout track for me so far, dig that bassline!

Going to check the new Caroline Rose right now.  I’ve been in a Lord Huron mood all day but I gotta listen to something besides ‘Music to listen to on haunted moors’ at some point today lol

Jemisin is a writer in the afro-futurist tradition mixing hard sci fi or fantasy ideas with elements drawn black and/or african culture. Stories about space cops are sci fi pulp, just as tales of Jedi Knights are pulp adventures that take place in space.

Novelists don’t always transition well to the comics medium, so I was surprised and pleased at how good Far Sector was right from the start. Jemison’s afro-futurist-laced sci fi pulp meshes so fluidly with Campbell’s radiant hypermodern art that one would swear that they had been collaborating for years.

Right?? It really does seem like a new golden age. Or several golden ages since there are so many good comics in so many genres and styles! Even with free comics from the library and digital ones on my tablet, I couldn’t possibly keep up with all the good stuff.

Maybe it’s because I mostly read about them online (as opposed to the bad old days, when I’d find out about comics from Wizard Magazine), so I’m in a bit of a bubble, but this is seemingly the best comics have ever been. I can’t think of a time since I was a teenager where I wanted to buy so many different monthly

I love eliZabeth. Huge fan. I hope you are right because it crack me up picturing her stamping her foot and saying “Why won’t they print my tag line” sarcastically, knowing why and chuckling at her private long running joke.

It may be a bit premature to call them awful when they’re not even out yet.  Or filmed.  Or possibly written.

They met them at Niagara Falls, so you totally wouldn’t know them.

My favorite genre of trolls are obvious white people pretending to be Black.

It’s weird that she doesnt end every interview with a sign off like, “And you can take that to the bank(s)!”

It must be really hard for conservatives to admit they have some degree of empathy.

Not all are Canadian. Some go to a different school.

He’s one of those people who’s so good at playing a loathsome asshole, and that’s (perhaps) because it’s not much of a stretch. I saw him once while waiting at the gate for a delayed flight -dude had resting asshole face, and after a while he stormed off in a puff - and then almost immediately the flight started

Yeah... this sounds about right. Ugh.

“conservative or centric libertarian-minded [famous people] that really care about other people,” but they’re afraid to “come out of the closet” as conservatives

Holy shit, he might be a worse person than his character Jaha on The 100, who I really, really hated. That was good casting, I guess

Aunt Thomasina

White acceptance and a desire to be famous are a dangerous cocktail. It doesn’t surprise me that Owens was writing her truth until she realized that Conservatives are thirsty as hell and there’s a market for spewing their hateful, stupid ass rhetoric all over the place, especially if you’re willing a black woman who’s
