Never, everyone just loves to skip over the important context that Gunn has said he’s open to it being a transplant into his DCU since it’s essentially standalone as it is. As of right now, though, that’s not the case and will entirely depend on how it performs and if there’s any demand for more.

So yes, for the first time ever Star Wars fans—at least in the United States—will very easily be able to watch the show, in real time, all together, at a reasonable hour, six hours earlier than all the other Star Wars shows had been debuting over the past four years.

VOD means high quality pirate copies will be available almost immediately afterword. Not that I’d know anything about that.

The appearance of Ahsoka hasn’t helped matters—Dawson’s portrayal feels so stark compared to Ahsoka’s voice actor Ashley Eckstein, to the point that they’re basically two separate people

I’m not an expert on this, and “Oldboy” was great when I saw it years and years ago. But like that one, most of these focus on movies with a fucking incredible amount of violence.

So, it’s kind of odd to not mention a great romantic comedy, “My Sassy Girl,” which is 22 years old, made a mint, and is still hilarious

No arguments here, Memories of Murder was a superb film. I believe they eventually worked out who the guy was in real life as well.

There was about 5 years when I was buying every Korean film I could get my hands on as well as going to South Korea almost every year in the period of 2005 to 2010.

I will proudly be that guy who says he knew about Memories of Murder already by this time and it is still the best film of the century so far. I like Oldboy and Park’s films overall, and he did open the door somewhat...but I think Bong’s films are the top. There were other films around that time also, Save the Green

Agreed. Godot was wooden in Death on the Nile.

The American “center” is well to the right of most of the rest of the world’s centre.

Yeah, it’s not the first movie I’d point to as the exemplar of Hollywood crap, but on the other hand, if you’re railing against Hollywood’s low standards and lack of respect for the audience, you don’t really have a lot of moral high ground as the star of a so-so sequel to the ninth most popular superhero franchise of

Haven’t seen Michelle Pfeiffer talking weird shit about her movies.

“We have to actively not choose the garbage”

The fans really liked the [Uncharted] movie, and people who didn’t know anything about the game really liked the movie.”

I actually really liked Reign.  The story and the art were top notch.  Focusing on the semen is trivial when the point was that Peter carried the guilt of being responsible for Mary Jane’s death.

His comment feels like a passive-aggressive swipe at Villeneuve, which is dumb. Villeneuve has a better sense of imagery than Scott, and I’m not convinced that a Scott-directed 2049 would’ve been the right choice.

I’m not a fan of Blade Runner, so I haven’t seen the sequel, but my guess is that said sequel was more interesting than what Scott would have offered. So us Alien fans suffered through Covenant (yes, Ridley, I get it, you had a class on Gothic literature in college you really liked) so you Blade Runner fans could get

Lost in all this is the fact that a large percentage of people that are watching this, have never read the books and maybe played Witcher3, so the show is likely considered by many, who don’t have a vested interest in the books.

I want to know what people mean when they demand creatives “MUST respect the source material” because honestly I reject the idea that anyone adapting a creative works should have to do that. In fact, there’s lots of examples where deviating from source materials have led to better works.
