@NeVeRMoRe666: To answer your question bluntly, most of these soccer moms will notice it as "isn't that one of those Nintendo thingys?"

If I wanted to push this to the ground and take it as a critical view, I'd say it symbolizes the re-birth of how Sony wants to create a more simpler system so consumers will not be overwhelmed with all its parts and its price.

@Ueziel: Ideally anyone would want to, as you call it, dethrone their competition, but with how far this generation is, Sony and MS wants to try to take a piece of the casual pie Nintendo holds.

@(zombie) buddhathing: If you're a Kotaku hermit, then your F5 key should have been busted a looooong time ago.

@General_D23: One of these days I'll go and support your games convention.

@Archaotic: Wouldn't that be up to Square-Enix and not Sony? Last thing VS needs is more time in development because of motion control.

Throw your rocks at me, but I personally suggest Sony to do it as a pack-in party game with TONS of mini-games as well as having something that the hardcore can get into ala Red Steel type game.

@TheIrishNinja: No. What pushed it was the PS2's ability to bring in the casual crowd, which the PS3 is failing to do.

@Covenant: The question of "will it sell" also rings in my mind. Although the first one did in fact sell pretty well, I wonder if people will remember how badly some of them got burned when they got the first Red Steel. Plus it was one of the showcase games that got people talking about how the Wii can do game play

I guess you really don't know how to feel about the newly refined game play which is fine since you'd probably need more time to work through all the controls. Also as long as it doesn't play like the first game, then everything is all dandy, unless the sequel fails to capture the intended objective.

@pandafresh: I'll quote you on that. The idealization of a 3rd party exclusive is all but dead this generation. Especially for Square who seem to have forgotten all about the PS3.

I don't watch movies anymore because they're too damn expensive, unless I get a free pass of some sort. I'd rather save and spend my money on my hobby - video games.

Call me bitter and an ass, but I don't believe a single word Yoshinori Kitase said.

Gee I always thought it was the mentality gamers had with the "fairness" of what is allowed in their minds.

The day all games are online only are the days I stop gaming altogether. I believe in adapting, but that is one thing I can never adapt to. Fortunately it seems that will never happen (I hope).

@Nyarlahotep: In the game play which they haven't gotten into much detail yet. Unless you wanted guns, boobs and explosions with higher resolutions, then sadly you are looking at the wrong game and its genre.

Unfortunately I have to get this game next week since I have plans this whole week (I reall want to play it) :(

Contribute it to age, change of taste, growing out of it, etc, but I just couldn't stand the flash game due to it being turn based. Turn based games are just not my pot of tea anymore which makes me sad since some of the best times I had were from turn based JRPGs :(

@Shinta: It's a long (LONG) term thing. what MS wanted was a step up in the gaming world and take a larger part of the pie Sony occupied during the PS2 era. What galm666 said is essentially true.
