You’re not wrong, but any amount of time you can save for the other people behind you is worthwhile. That’s common courtesy, which now needs to be legally enforced.

Why is everyone assuming a fair fight in this? The scenario I find most compelling is Russia turning to China for support, devolving into a much larger and murkier war for all.

While I am not employed at any polling stations and don’t know the inner workings, this is how I would expect it to be handled. I do know that polling places do have relatively good security to monitor for things of that nature.
