Just don’t get Alyx. After that, it feels like there’s exactly one VR game out there.

Bloody hell, I sure can. Riddle me with arrows, you Irish Amazon. Impale me with your electric spear, you muscular cavewoman.

you can’t see the stats of anyone other than the people in your squad. there’s no scoreboard”

Walking away from his daughter makes sense. Gi-hun helps people in need; that’s a defining trait. His mom, his fellow contestants, the potential contestant, the flower lady. That’s his schtick, and getting to that is his development arch. It’s the point of the story, in his case.

The original show wasn’t an adaptation. There was a manga, but they were made in parallel.

The entire series is a rewrite. The trailer shows this clearly. Episode assumptions based on the anime just don’t apply.

Looks fine to me.

I work at a software developer, and my best guess on this is that Microsoft’s game clients (and store services) are bad for a couple of reasons.

Not everyone that works Kotaku will have the same take on games. People are allowed to have different opinions, even though they work for the same company.

Hrrrrrm, I don’t know. It kind of looks like some fan-made adaptation of the original intro or like a hip-hop video from the 90s or something. Based on this alone, watching the live action adaptation may be a bit too cringe for me.

If a game let's me do this - it's a great game. Its objectively the only way to evaluate a game's quality.

closest is about 2.5 hours away so not a regular trip

Going by my understanding of what Kojima refers to as strand-type game, Dark Souls would fit that mold if it wasn’t for the pvp/coop. Though you are not creating physical structures, you are often leaving messages interspersed throughout the game, and what messages you see will depend on where and when you are in the

I don’t think a strand game technically needs to be multi-player. I think it’s enough if it’s simply about building connections rather than divisions. Less combat and more communication.
