He actually met his wife while filming Stuck on You, so that’s not it. They weren’t married until 2006 so it would have to be after that.
It’s a fucking tragedy that Atlanta only ever won 2 Emmys, back in the first season (not counting Creative Arts Emmys). It was one of the smartest, best written, most inventive, and most well-crafted series in recent memory. I know it got lots of critical love, but it honestly didn’t get nearly enough. Something tells…
Wait, do people not like season 3 of Ted Lasso? I just finished it and really enjoyed it, certainly more than season 2.
So... Wildboyz?
They’re literally describing how modern commerce works in general lol. Every product gets sold to you at a markup by the retailer you bought it from. Flippers are annoying, but they’re essentially doing the same thing stores do—buying something and selling it to make a profit.
This is pretty disingenuous. The base model Camry starts at 26k which is almost 20% less. And I’m not sure how the rebate works, but it’s not instant, is it? You still have to take out a loan for a 40k+ car, right?
I haven’t seen it, but apparently the 2021 Suicide Squad had full frontal male nudity and was shot with IMAX digital cameras (and presumably released in IMAX too).
Couldn’t disagree more about the dragon’s breath scene. I was transfixed by the perspective; I think I actually gasped when it began. It works so well on both an aesthetic and a philosophical level. One of the reasons people love JW, myself included, is that the cinematography is the exact opposite of the “shakycam,”…
The comparison to The Brady Bunch Movie seems incredibly apt. I knew it’d be an ironic, postmodern take on the material from the moment Gerwig was announced as the director, but I was still wholly unprepared for what the trailer showcased.
This is a fundamental misunderstanding of the point of streaming platforms. They are absolutely not, nor were they ever, intended to be definitive media archives or preservation tools, despite what many people seem to think. At no point in history prior to about a decade ago did we ever expect every piece of media…
Jackass and Nitro Circus are two fundamentally different things with wildly different ethos. NC purely focuses on stunts with an emphasis on precision and danger, while Jackass is more anarchic and countercultural, with an emphasis on breaking social and cultural boundaries. In Jackass, the stunts are merely means to…
I really don’t understand why they have to remake a game that’s only 10 years old and is incredibly easy to find/play on modern consoles and PCs. Easier and cheaper than doing something original I suppose
That poster for Tale of a Vampire is a thing of beauty. Especially for a movie that’s apparently so obscure it doesn’t even have a Wikipedia page.
I’ve never heard of either of those movies but the credits are absolutely bonkers. The original was directed by Martin Campbell with Julianne Moore, David Warner, and Clancy Brown in supporting roles. And the sequel is directed by freakin’ Paul Schrader!
It’s wild to think that the original (not so much the sequel) was considered the high water mark for video game movies for many, many years.
Because... Xbox consoles currently exist and will be sold for years to come? Did you think this meant that they were immediately shutting down production of all consoles?
There are some pretty interesting takeaways here. I would’ve never guessed that the PSP outsold the 3DS. Or that the freakin’ N-Gage sold as many units as the Atari 5200, 7800, and Lynx combined. I was also kind of shocked how low the SNES was. If you had asked me to guess, I would’ve said top 5 easily, more likely…
You watch a show with 60 hour-long episodes 6 times a year? Meaning you lose 15 entire, 24-hour days by watching the same show over and over each year? Do you ever watch anything else? I’m not even sure I spend 360 hours actively watching TV (so excluding background noise viewing) at all within a year.
My interest in this movie before opening the review, as someone with zero nostalgic attachment to the series/character, was about a 1 out of 10, but after finding out Waller-Bridge and Mads are in it, I’m at a solid 3 or 4.
