But see, y’all don’t know who is funding it. So it’s not really reporting per se. It’s more of a list of who isn’t funding it, which I find uninteresting. You know who also isn’t funding the Ringer? The Pope! Dennis Rodman! That kid from Jerry Maguire! Boom, I reported.

I’d like to confirm that I did not invest in The Ringer. No need to get in touch, Kevin.

I’d be careful handing out gold stars to people named Moskovitz if I were you.

I hate to give a hot-taker like Cowherd any credit whatsoever, but every once in a while he’ll have a point.

“If Curry’s shot fades, what’s left? He’s 6' 2", and a buck eighty. There’s not a lot to offer there. That’s your unanimous MVP.”

Dear Peter Thiel, this is the kind of person you want to bankroll in order to fight the big bads.

“I come from a long line of proud dipshits”

As long as it still provides vegans with a misplaced sense of superiority I'm sure it will do fine.

However, as Conte hinted at, it’s hard to judge how Giovinco, say, carving up Sporting Real Charlotte FC would translate against Belgium.

Giovinco clearly deserves to be on that roster. There isn't a better striker in Italy. I think this has less to do with Giovinco's quality and more to do with the fact that Conte just seems to hate him.

Literally no one thinks MLS is better than the big European leagues.

The Premier League is one of the most watched leagues in the world, and they have had limited to no success in their continental cup either. Their league was won this year by a team that nearly got relegated last year, and the new TV deal is actively pushing the teams to the middle.

If MLS salaries can approach the same level as the NHL, they’ll be higher than every league except the Premier League. Given the growth in MLS, that is not out of the realm of possibility in 10-20 years.

It’s actually pretty easy to tell how Giovinco’s skills would translate against Belgium because Belgium called up a Montreal Impact defender named Laurent Ciman (Google it Billy). Leaving Giovinco off the team is just plain stupid.

Yes Billy, Giovinco would have been much better served sitting on the bench at Juventus (Only 7 Serie A starts his last season and a half there). That would have gotten him named to the Euro squad...

world class managers like ... Klinsmann

As always, Haisley takes an interesting quote filled with nuance - one which raises really intriguing questions about MLS and it’s place in the world - and reduces it into an MLS hit piece.

Matt Miazga - call your agent!

“If Conte didn’t play Giovinco much when they were a few yards away from each other on the bench at Juve, it makes sense that the manager wouldn’t play him now.”

Pirlo’s makes it sound like it’s either “running hard” or “playing”. The truth is, it’s neither.
