That’s been sent down from on high, that all this DEI stuff has to go

Well I’m no stock whisperer, but a huge part of its overvaluation of late is speculation that Musk has bought himself all sorts of influence with Trump.

Digging the tunnel wasn’t a bad idea. Not laying down tracks and using an automated tram was.

While I don’t think the feature is worth the cost of admission, there IS value here, as long as you are a competent “driving instructor” as you very well put it.

Very good point that probably isn’t brought up often enough.  I know what I’m going to do before I do it.  I can only react to a self-drive system *after* it starts to fuck something up.

Still trusts self-driving software that almost got him killed, and would have if he didn’t stay alert, stay engaged, stay driving

Sarcasm detected.

So in other words... Boeing has no incentive to be shady?

The AI aspect of health insurance was definitely in the news...

Ten bucks says the asshole will demand they put his name in giant letters on the side of the plane.

Boeing has no incentive to be shady. It’s a fat government contract for a custom plane and they’re being well paid for it. I expect it’s just as much of a pain in the ass to work on (given security concerns and the specifications) as they are claiming it is.

The difference is in how aware people are of it. The Healthcare CEO shooting is a good example. How many people even really knew about AI making healthcare decisions before that? I HAVE that same insurance company and even I hadn’t been exposed to that yet.

I think that’s a pretty big false equivalence though. Being annoyed by AI popups in your browser is somewhat different than hearing Aunt Matilda has been run over by an AV on her way to church.

Killer autonomous cars aren’t a Democrat thing, they’re a tech bro (ie. right wing) development.

My guess is the public will be pressured to simply accept a higher fatality level as the cost of “progress” (that just so happens to line billionaires’ pockets).

Pretty sure he already has. Hasn’t his wealth gone up at least tens of billions since election day?

they’re going to be shit on and thrown under the wheels

I absolutely expect him to try that for real. But really, I just can’t wait for them to try to cut anything because nobody even knows if the President will be allowed to just unilaterally cut spending that Congress has already appropriated. They are claiming they can but that’s because Trump thinks the President can

It’s not Tesla owners but Tesla share-holders that might have standing to sue him... but you stated the problem with this yourself.  How can they sue him when their investment values are soaring upwards?  When this house of cards does eventually fall, I imagine there might be lawsuits from whichever true believers

Right back at ya, buddy.
