Just keep them away from the KC-135s! Or Palomares!
Just keep them away from the KC-135s! Or Palomares!
Ok folks, let’s continue with the interesting discussions all across the board.
That’s why I wrote “building” and “2020". It’s not there yet, but if they continue with the present rhetoric, they will get there. And while they may or may not be worth capturing, they would certainly have to be destroyed or disabled in a time of war.
Like I said, they are politically reasonable. It’s just that I am slightly pissed about their military expansionism. Their people need a lot of things, but carriers of ballistic missile subs are not among them.
What the hell is that ridiculous BS?
They are not trying to occupy them or anything like that. It is actually a defensive strategy calling on their navy and air force to be able to strike and operate to and beyond those island chains.
World’s largest democracy, but also, one of the world’s most divided societies; a situation best exemplified by the massive (and unnecessary, in my opinion) military expenditures, while a quarter of their population lives in poverty and subpar conditions.
Are you actually trying to compare me with those idiots? I was only pointing out to the fact that sometimes, fortifications are very much necessary and useful, and in this case, building an integrated air defense over the South China Sea would be a very serious thing. Basically, they are trying to create territorial…
Earthquakes don’t shake the islands apart. If an earthquake could actually be strong enough to do so, a major shit would happen across the entire (wider) region.
And while the USN is busy dealing with them, Chinese submarine and bomber forces can get busy dealing with the US carriers. In a shooting war, anything goes.
Except that you are wrong. They are basically building an IADS over the South China sea, and that my friend, is the best fortification one can have. Would you call Guam pointless, Gibraltar, Akrotiri or Kaliningrad pointless?
Ok, while not the mixtapes, but here are some Chinese music videos:
It’s a seriously flawed logic, the same one that had DoD planners thinking that all the future wars would be interventions and insurgencies, and then, the 2014 happened.
Chinese military, in all intents and purposes, is being expanded with an eye for a potential future confrontation with the US and its allies.
You see, arguments like these destroy your credibility in every reasonable discussion. It also shows your horrible ignorance and complacency. Wars and crises that precede them often happen with little warning.
There is a country in the Far East called China. And both aircraft have actually performed missions they were built for. And today it takes a decade to put a modern combat aircraft in service. And you are horribly shortsighted; who says that there won’t be a full scale war in the near future?
