I don’t agree with that. I don’t think that the increase in the Iranian foreign involvement is the result of Obama’s disengagement from the region. I think that it is the result of the power vacuum created by the spread of the war in Syria, which had caused Gulf states, Iran and Turkey to scramble for power and

Wow! That is a really incredible photo collection. Was that Valkyrie photo taken before the crash with the F-104?

Haha, a few years ago, an ex-Navy pilot told me he thinks that F-16 is definitely more maneuverable, but that he is slightly biased towards the 18, as he feels that overall, the Hornet is a slightly better combat aircraft.

    Zone.

Well, all I can say is:

We shall see.....the truth is out there.

Seeing the Sundowners colors made me feel obliged to post this:

To put it simply, the F-16 is a better dogfighter, the FA-18 is better in everything else.

I am well aware of their history; what I meant is that we don’t have to be arming nations like Qatar while the largest sunni-shia crisis in the recent history is underway (Syria, Yemen, Iraq, their recent diplomatic row), while we are trying to mend our relations with Iran.

I do understand all that, but it is my opinion that US doesn’t have to export its top end arms to a nation like Qatar. Saudi Arabia is OK, but who knows what the hell is Qatar up to. At the moment, they have only a dozen or so combat aircraft; 72 Strike Eagles are quite a statement, especially given the recent

I’d call it the second best, after the F/A-18; somehow, the 18 is a more complete aircraft.

I think that by the time that happens, companies like Draken International will be operating quite a lot of F-16s and similar aircraft.

Of course not, but I do think that Qatar is the wrong choice for an ally. How can you sell high-end arms to someone who turns a blind eye on people who are financing the people you are fighting against?

    Now playing

So basically, if he had done this, everything would’ve been been fine:

Haha, some allies! Why should we keep fueling the sunni-shia conflict, when those very same allies turn a blind eye to terrorism and its own citizens who fund it? Oh, I forgot, we can make profit from it.

Maybe they actually have some brains and don’t want to be responsible for fueling a regional conflict. The only good use we have from those “allies” is the oil we get from them, while at the same time they are the ones funding and brewing the extremism in the region.

F-20 would’ve been awesome, not hillarious.

It is a proven fact that Qatar is funding terrorists. Not on a government level, but certainly a number of influential people inside of it do.

Dangerous, yes, but I don’t actually see a big issue with that. On the other hand, standing on the outside of a corner, is unquestionably moronic.
