Or maybe they are just showing off/doing a PR, just like the Russia did with their strategic bombers and cruise missiles from the Caspian Sea, or the US did with Tomahawks. A million dollar worth missile being used to blast a Toyota Hilux.

It was first being used by the RAF during the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

I’d say that the greatest advantage of the Rhino is the fully combat capable two seater, Typhoon is still far from that. Typhoon is lagging in A2G because its users are too lazy to integrate it with all the weapons available.

Here is some interesting info: RAF originally wanted to buy F-14 instead of the ADV Tornado as a replacement for the Phantom, but it was to expensive. And if the RN had got the CVA-01, there is no doubt that they would’ve bought the FA-18. And USAF had briefly looked into Tornado as part of the F-111 replacement

Ignorance. Because there is nothing classified to be seen here.

Hindsight. That’s what has plagued DoD for the past 25 years. A decade ago, they’ve decided that all future wars will be low-intensity COIN wars and UN intervention. Frigates were scrapped, anti ship missiles forgotten, F-22 production lines shut, everything poured into F-35 and meaningless projects like LCS.....

First, the Typhoon is overall a better aircraft than legacy FA-18, and marginally better than Rhino (although Rhino is cleared to carry everything in the inventory, while Typhoon isn’t). And it was put into service in the same time frame as Rafale and F-22, regardless of the in-fighting. It is actually quite a good

I am not missing my point, and I get your point, but that alone wouldn’t not work in an intense combat scenario. HATE equipped aircraft can only direct other fighters to it, it can’t act as airborne FAC for the entire group. To effectively counter stealth, you need IRST on every aircraft, otherwise you can only do it

With a car like that, you don’t need a goddamned boat!

I think there might be a way to defeat Ogier and VW. When the FIA was thinking about bringing back some of the enrudance rallie, or simply extending the length of individual rallies, Ogier and VW bosses started crying like a little girls. But then, Ogier does so whenever things aren’t going his way. He is like

No, because not every aircraft will carry it. It is an equivalent of carrying a bomb or a drop tank on that station, it hampers maneuvering. If every single aircraft can get IRST, it would significantly increase its capability.

How can I possibly be defeated in an argument with someone who has his had too far up his ass to see the facts? Your idea that US is supporting ISIL or any of the islamist rebels is pure nonsense. It is what Russian propaganda is feeding its own people, just like those ridiculous news stories during the Crimean crisis

So, still now love for their bastard child:

You are an idiot. That’s all I have to say.

Then you’re not looking good enough. There is plenty of thought going into that. It’s actually one of the priorities for the AF.

Is anything publicly available on the recent “Trilateral Exercise” with F-22s, Typhoons and Rafales?

Definitely. F-15s are getting a whole array of upgrades, from radar to IFF, but still no change in the way it is all presented to its pilots. And since they they are being so throughly modernized, why not give them a full update that would include new displays and IRST; it would be financially justifiable, at least

It’s an older meme but it checks out.

Who cares, both terms are used interchangeably. What’s the difference between fixed “it” and “that”?
