That’s why I think that Kinja sucks. The whole point of blogs like this is that people can discuss its topics. Why couldn’t they simply limit that “show pending” to Jezebel (they are the reason why we have it), or the other core Gawker sites? Contents and target audience of Jalopnik and its subordinate blogs have

No, it means exactly that. A plane is useless if it cannot be used in its full capacity. I haven’t been able to find reliable source on the combat range of the 29K, but the sources state that it is around 1000km with drop tanks. While the original 29 sucked heavily with only around 150NM of combat range on

Contrary to your opinion, that engine sucked balls. All of its (relative) success came from its drivers.

Actually, I think that the award for the most impressive un-raced racing car has to go the Allard J2X-C of the same era:

Can I please get ungreyed here?

1-on-1 comparison is very much spot on here, as it points out to a flaw in the entire doctrine.

No, aside from its training role, Kuznetsov is a pointless ship. Aircraft carrying cruisers (fixed wing, conventional aircraft) have long been considered as a dead end of the naval aviation. Helicopter cruisers did have some use.

Or replying to those who say things like great post, superb job and so on.

You don’t need to counter carriers with carriers. Submarines and powerful SSMs and AShMs are a great way too. That was the entire Soviet doctrine of the Cold war for dealing with the USN.

Me too! I’d also like him to get more involved into discussions here; there are plenty of good ones around and I would really like to see his opinions on the topics beyond his articles.

Damn right! It was one of my favorite PC games as a kid, and your comparison with the real stuff is spot on. I actually had a proper racing RC car (electric) and those things are quite handful to learn how to drive properly on a tight course.

Ask him in the comments, he did state that he wants everyone here to comment freely. Although, he doesn’t seem to be reading or responding to comments very often in the recent months.

When consider that Ulyanovsk was being built, yes. When considering the breakup of the USSR, no. They’ve actually reversed that (Su-33) decision recently, although more than 20 years too late.

Weren’t you out of grey here?

The obvious choice is the MIG-29K, since they are already buying a lot of Russian stuff, so why not something that is actually quite useful. And Russians would benefit from it to; MIG-29 has pretty much been forgotten over the last decade or so.

I can’t see them either, I can’t edit my comments and I have to guess where the recommend star is. Kinja sucks, not least because of the “show pending” thing.

Man, you don’t know what are you missing! Whether you like the story or not, I strongly recommend watching it; it is a real feast for the eyes. The cinematography and the music are just perfect. And the stunts....

Liaoning is just for practice, it has limited value as a fleet carrier. PLAN has already acquired a few of the Kiev class helo-carriers and an ex-HMAS Melbourne, just to study them.

The new Mad Max being the exception!

Yeah, sure, sure..... First, I did not say anything about “moderate” rebels; I know they are histroy and I actually believe that Assad winning this war is the only path to the peace. I also do think that he is a criminal and that he has to be punished, but reality is different from dreams.
