The accepting, non-body-shaming geeks you seek are out there, I promise! I imagine they're harder to find in the anime crowd (I've never seen a positive role model in any anime who was more than a size 2, and the female fans are generally young & pretty & perfect), but I attend more mainstream comic book conventions

Definitely ask them why! I'm really curious (read: a little nervous). Thanks for taking the time to answer!

Who told you you would need to switch after two years? I've been considering getting off of it at some point due to the warnings of its affects on bone density, because I'm tiny and haven't had time to build up muscle mass with exercise (thus, my bones are pretty important to me). But I've asked my gyno about it, and

Chiming in; Depo has been AMAZING for me. No periods, no weight gain, no mood swings, plenty of interest in sex.

"His tee shirt printing business folded..."

After hearing the lovely, rolling one from the Nigerian model, I want to learn... Nigerian... or... whatever language people in Nigeria speak!

I hated Barney right up until I read this. <3 You have a convert, here.

Hah! Thank you, that's what I was looking for! I literally just got online to look up my friend's baby registry, and happened to click on Jezebel (for the fifth time today, yes, okay).

Seriously! I was hoping (in a car-wreck-curious kind of way) to get a little peek at some bunghole, what with that black bar and all. In fact, it may be the only reason I visited this page. (It is.)

About effing TIME!! "Permissive recommendation" or not, this is a step in the right direction.

Oh thank you for this article. I'll be the first to admit that I use a lot of non-PC, offensive words, because I live in a bubble with friends who I know will take them the way they're meant, often as satire. And I realize I should be more careful not to use those words in public.

Ooh! That— is—- now on my wishlist. Thanky!

Oh, I could not be more proud! This is the high school I graduated from (we were the first graduating class, '99). I'm not even surprised; the school was also rather open-minded about gay students (a good portion of the contestants for "Mr. Urbana" were gay).

Not sure if it's the same one I have, but they're generally $10 and don't last very long anyway. I've since switched to Jimmy Jane vibes (worth it!!), but back in my $10 bullet days, my garbage was much more interesting. ;)

Man, I REALLY want to understand what you're saying, because it sounds like you've thought this through, but I'm still confused. You said:

"The reason its not done as a screening test in men (other than as an anal pap) is that ITS NOT BENEFICIAL for a man to know whether or not he has penile HPV. "

Hah! This is exactly how I feel - description didn't bug me, and I want that shirt (with a cheaper price tag, pls).

YES, brilliant! Now they just need to come up with a self-test for men. Or, y'know, an HPV test in general, because I know several wonderful men who would like to get tested for HPV, but when they bring it up with their doctors they're met with that "I don't understand, you don't have to worry about cervical cancer"

Aww man I have all the pieces to go as Annie Hall, because I wanted to do Annie and Alvy with my ex a few years ago soooo badly! But he (who basically dressed like Alvy anyway, and introduced me to the movie himself) wouldn't do it.

I think this is all GREAT advice! But that's probably because it's the exact same advice I would give.
