@shocin: You can use music in races. The guidelines changed about 2 years ago. Some days, after an 11-hour workday, the music is pretty much necessary...nothing is better than when that perfect song comes on. #exercise

I run in ice and cold weather (-10F) and psych myself up by monitoring other people's reactions to my running. I get some strange looks when it is super cold or snowy or icy, and it cracks me up.
