He definitely kept a 19yo g/f (USC student) paid with hush money in an apartment during his time there, so I think it’s safe to say that Carroll did.

$1500 for an apartment is the complaint? Damn, sounds attractive after spending the last way too many years of my life in NY/SF/NY. But with those same gettin’ paid youngsters, get ready for a lot more inflation on the way!

Somebody put this guy to work in a coal mine.

I think the mercy rule could be an opportunity to have a lot of fun. Like if the rule is that the players on the team get to choose a new player-manager for the duration of the game and that player also takes the manger’s pay for the day.

Fun thing about this point—your side has no statistical basis either. But yes, this is a sport filled with cobwebbed brains and dusty ethos so I’m fully aware specialists who can only do one thing well will continue to squander many more could’ve-been-Ohtanis. There’s a reason his talent happened outside of the US; he

Jay-Z and Goodell should partner and rebrand as Cock Nation because they’re both so horny for money and fucking over everyone else.

That’s the sadness you know is down the road for the taller, heavier frame guys. Looking at Greg Oden right away and knowing it could only be a year or two before the collapse makes me really hope a guy like Tacko Fall can get a payday in before his knees go.

I think he’ll have plenty of suitors if he’s willing to play for small contract / deep bench roles. For a guy who’s so talented, that’s a brutal pill to have to swallow and horrible luck.

The talent is way more frequent than that, but not allowed to thrive. Player development stunts ‘em young—teams force players into one role or the other. Why? To develop specialists, which like the DL, is cutting someone’s athletic output in half.

I’d love to see a breakdown of missed calls over the entire season to see what teams are getting screwed the hardest by home plate umpires. Would it justify my instinct that my favorite team is getting boned more often than the others? Even if it turned out to be true, it’s probably not by too much.

Counter-point with monetary/marketing value:

I can’t wait to be horrified by the food at the venue.

I mean, I think I just disproved your statement—that’s the fun part about traditions, anyone can get into them and elitists can sit there yelling at clouds. Chelsea’s 2012 kicking of the Spurs from the Champs league was quite glorious and enjoyable for more than just one side of London.

I’m still not used to/okay with Tottenham finishing above 7th and demand the return of my St. Totteringham’s day (And am not even an Arsenal supporter).

I’m sorry all I can see is Ecstasy in Flushing.

Watching the series against the Cubs, initially I was mad. But after the first couple homers you just have to marvel. This dude was ripping the ball and knocking the crap out of some quality pitches. To stay locked in for days against that many different pitchers, Aquino is seeing the ball about as well as anyone can.

And then there’s the Triple Triad addiction that’s probably made me restart a game more than any other.

So is the circle complete if a hitpiece like this polices VAR?
