@trunk8: Fantastic! Thanks for that tip. That's exactly what I was looking for. Cheers.

I do love Launchy... but I've got one problem with using it to launch web sites. When I'm at work, I often have IE pages (yes, I know... we don't have any choice) open but minimised. If I use Launchy/Runny to open a website, it uses one of the open instances of IE and navigates away from the page it was already

After hearing Rick's issue with getting Palm- and Treo-related pages, does anyone else worry that this could be an advertising tool, with companies paying to be "gStumbled-upon" by this function?

I'm stuck in IE for work, so I've been using the Google toolbar spellchecker. I do like the right-click look-up in wiki/dictionary. I tend to use google's define: function a lot, so a right-click version of same (or similar) would be nice.

@Schandlich: Really? I couldn't get it to work with Outlook 2003. I just kept getting the 'research' pane. I could get it to go, however, in Word.

For a similar scene, check out Paul Zenon's "100 Ways to Win a Tenner".

I use 'Cheers' most of the time. And I'm not just talking about email. I use it for 'Bye' and 'Thanks'. My Dad's a Brit, but I'm an Aussie, so I think I've just inherited it from him.

Ok, I've got a question for the knowledge-shpere that is lifehacker...

I have a whiteboard and markers beside my desk. When I sit down, I look to my left and see what's on the list. There's no editing of a "todolist.js" when jobs are done, just a quick swipe with the eraser.

This is quite a program. Anyone with even a smidge of artistic talent could make some impressive work using this. Shame I've got none whatsoever, and ended up just writing "Dave woz here" in metallic green spraypaint.

@sp3nc3: Yeah, it does go on a bit, doesn't it.

Yeah, the name 'Mouser' has definately been taken. It was the name of the robots made by Dr. Baxter Stockman for The Shredder so that he could kill Splinter in the first season of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I'll agree with Aeric. Freeze the bottle one quater full of water. Then you'll have a nice iced drink during your gym session. Just don't drink it too fast, or you'll end up with terrible brain freeze!

Ok, let's see what taglines I can come up with. I'll let someone else deal with the design of the shirt.

Now playing

I've been juggling for about four years now. Working with balls, clubs and rings. It's great hobby. Constantly challenging, and not too pricey to get into. If you're interested and looking for more jugging resources on the web, then www.jugglingdb.com is a great place to start. It's even got its own portal to

Ok, who's read Neal Stephenson's 'Snow Crash'? This interactive 'Librarian' remind you of that? Let's goggle into the metaverse and ask the librarian some questions.

Bah... this whole idea sounds horrible. I use a computer because my handwriting is so terrible! I certainly don't want to bring my rubbish handwriting style into my word documents.

Hmmm... I'm just putting the finishing touches on my thesis at the moment. (Due in three weeks. ARGH!)

I've looked at this in the past, but thought that I'd never use it. Most of my typing is done in Word or within a web browser with SpellCheck extension.

@Andy: You're absolutely right. Exchanging the top half of the deck for the bottom half isn't called shuffling, it's called cutting the deck. A true one handed shuffle is possible (have a search on YouTube if you'd like to see a clip) but it's much more difficult than the one handed cuts that I was demonstrating.
