We used to mess with restaurant greeters by giving my mother-in-law’s maiden name, Szczygielski, instead of my easily pronounceable name, Hall. But using Hall almost always turned into Paul no matter how well I enunciated. I missed several dinner calls for Paul, but I never missed them stumbling to pronounce

When W10 first came out, you could not edit the update configuration. That was a huge red flag for many W7 users.

I have only been carrying a flipper pocket knife for 4 years (I’m 69). I inherited my father’s collection of pocket knives years ago, but his are far too hard to open with my flimsy thumbnails. Spring assisted flippers are great for me because they open with one finger. If I or my wife needs to cut something, I have

My father was a grilling master. Even though his favorite grill was only 15 inches square, he was able to cook steak for a crowd with no problems.

Try it on a baked potato.  I’ve been doing that for years.

I must be lucky. 57 years of wearing glasses and never broke a pair.

My daughter buys glasses from them every time she gets a new dress. I on the other hand, did not have such good luck with them. They got my astigmatism prescription very wrong - wasted money.  I will use the frames and get backup lenses when I finally get glasses somewhere else.

I am reminded almost weekly of the hazards associated with W10. It seems every time you turn a W10 machine on you have to check for dubious updates. Or it will update for you and restart while you are in the middle of your spreadsheet, novel, or Photoshop project.

Let’s ask it another way. How much will a divorce save you? My ex spent my $100,000 savings in 2 years buying clothing, shoes, jewelry, and travel. Yes, I should have seen it coming when she came into the marriage with a zero balance savings account, but the divorce was worth every penny to stop the financial hemorrhag

We have a catahoula leopard dog about 7 years old. We live in the country on a fenced lot with plenty of room for him to get up to full speed. Still he is very insistent that he get a deeper walk every day. We have a flood-condemned neighborhood nearby that we take him to run off the leash. It is bordered on one side

NPR had an interesting story yesterday. To paraphrase, Q is a game, designed by a game designer, based in reality, where the payers largely do not realize they are playing a game. The players give each other clues about what’s happening in life leaving the other players to draw conclusions within their own framework.

Kinda makes me want to move to FL so I could vote against her.

Before you make such blanket statements about OEM phone chargers, buy/try a OnePlus phone and charger. When you have a charger that works that well, it is no wonder to us (OnePlus owners) why they delayed going to a slower technology like wireless.

With all the fans, do these things fly?

Dear RealDonald of the Future. Remember the China Virus? Everyone called it a pandemic, but me, Melania, and the freakishly tall Barron all got it, and bing-bang-boom, we got over it like nobody in the history of the world. Not much of a pandemic if you ask me. Then after the virus was over, I think some of my friends

I used to be a mover. If a tip was ever given, it would have been taken by my boss and I’d have never seen it. Having said that, the biggest help the clients can be is if they would please get out of our way. Leave the house.  Go visit the neighbors.  We know what we’re doing.

Yeah, no, this isn’t going to work on Donald Trump.  Nobody can pull an election out of their pocket.

What monster would wash hamburger?

I’m not sure who you are replying to with the hour per tile comment. My tile picture was a demonstration of concept and took about a minute. The rest of the floor took about 30 minutes with the magic mop attachment. We had had a fire in the house so there was soot on every surface.

Sofia Shanahan asks, “Did anybody know that?”
