Pretty much. It’s a governmentwide rule and it’s usually not a problem. The point is to try and control use of overtime. But it assumes overtime is rare (I’ve gotten the equivalent of one day in 16 years in federal service, mostly related to a single Congressional hearing).
Also, he hasn’t donated it to “the Troops.” So far it’s been Department of Interior and the Department of Education. Maybe VA is next?
Federal Employee Unions can’t negotiate wages or benefits. Just pretty much working conditions. It’s also a law. Congress can change it, but DOJ can’t just decide to do it.
Nope, it’s not the same thing. That’s due to an appropriations lapse. They will just either leave federal service, find a job in another agency without overtime, resign, or keep working a ton of overtime for no pay.
It’s not. The rules are complicated and arcane. They will get their regular salary, but all additional over time will be for free. They’ll probably quit and take jobs in private security or security consulting.
Most valuable thing I learned during an internship more than 20 years later: copy machine trouble shooting. Most valuable work tip I learned from my father: always respect that admin staff because besides it being what decent human do, they know all and see all.
I’m kind of surprised people are surprised about the memo. Liberal Democrats have them too. Barbara Mikulski had a terrifying one back in the late 90s.
I’m kind of amazed to see everyone taking this seriously. Maybe satire is dead? But I saw this as”Modest Proposal” style satire, not a recommendation.
20 years ago that would have easily landed you at any state school in Kentucky. I’m pretty sure my older cousins got into University of Wisconsin Madison with grades like that 30 years ago. I’d be shocked if my father’s grades 60 years ago where better than that.
Since the “military heritage commission” was set-up in the 90s to prevent things like this, I’ll be very surprised if it actually happens.
Some people pointed out that *might* make it an illegal business practice tonight in DC if it wasn’t disclosed up front.
For no other reason than to try and make a political point. Didn’t they learn from the restaurants that tried that with Obamacare fees?
Except that’s not what he said. You can behave like a malignant narcissist and not have NPD. They are not the same thing. He did not dispute the behavior. Or that the Trump is unfit to hold office. But he lacks character and skills, he’s not sick. He’s a bad person, not a sick one.
My vet prepared me not to go there, thank goodness. We agreed that his quality of life was key. Insulin gave him two good years though.
Having my diabetic kitty put down just about killed me. He went from a high quality of life to very sick, pretty quickly though. I did learned that all cat medicine should be reformulated to be an under the skin injection like insulin. He did not notice the scruff of the neck injections. Unlike the liquid medicine for…
My mom admits doing that, but I’m old and they kept you in the hospital for days so I can see wanting to avoid stubble. My.legs annoy me at some point.
It’s not actually a mental illness. It stigmatizes actual mental illness. It also relieves racist, jerk, babies of responsibility.
Nope. He was making himself look like the same reasonable one. This wasn’t a mistake. Note that this in no way means I think Bannon is reasonable. Or not a white supremacist.
The thing is, I don’t think he’s mentally ill. He’s just a big giant rich jerk. To avoid this happening again, don’t elect someone who behaves like this in the campaign trail. Also, someone who understands public service is a thing.
