Modern meets classic.
Like some of you I too fell in love with cars sometime in the mid-to-late 80's. One fond memory is from 1987. I was 6 years-old, sitting three-deep in the back of a '79 Cougar. Poison's Open Up and Say Ah was in the cassette deck while my late mom and aunt filled the car with Aquanet.
When it came to gauges, knobs and switches automakers were unrivaled in their ability to deliver on form and function. But as the dash evolved from mechanical to digital, giving way to touchscreens and voice commands, automakers failed to get it right.
The next time you decide "hey! I'm going to share my feelings on car buying" - never forget: some poor soul has to go out and dig up the horse that has to be beat.
Earlier this year I started to learn Illustrator (thanks Lynda.com). The image above was my first freehand piece. Keep in mind I'm a legal / policy guy so art and most anything else left-brained-creative isn't my thing.
