actually, if we're defining the "best" router as one that "most people should get," then I'm still pretty sure this isn't it. Most people should get a $50 linksys that has exactly the same functionality for 1/2 the price.

I've had good luck with the URC (Universal Remote Control) remote that I bought. Use it to control my HTPC (running MediaPortal), XBox (just on and off), TV, and surround system. Was pretty easy to setup and does just about everything I could ask. It could look a bit nicer, but whatever.
Yeah when I looked at the picture on the right with him out in front I literally burst out laughing...what a joke
Agreed. Have to remember that to power that screen and give it the battery life people associated with apple machines, they had to PACK the MBPs with batteries. There just isn't space in the air to do that (thing basically already is all battery). So until battery tech catches up I wouldn't hold your breath waiting…
Is there any information even out on jelly bean?
same, don't think I'd buy another non-google experience phone for this very reason.
this is exactly what I was thinking, especially since (as you mention) it has USB onboard as well.
I don't think that's true (someone please correct me if I'm wrong)...the plane is designed in a certain shape to have a reduced radar signal and then the coating itself is meant to absorb some of the radar signal (so it can't bounce back, etc.). I don't know how you would "hide edges" without leaving an unstable area…
well yeah, in the sense that any paint has an adhesive component to it as part of its makeup. This article implies something is actually glued to the fuselage, unless I'm misreading...
The only way to keep this stuff on is with glue? Really? You couldn't make some kind of spray on coating or something?
maybe because the "blades" are much closer together? wouldn't have anything to do with RPM, but not like it'd be the first time Giz writers misinterpreted a detail
Well you could argue that there always has been a cultural element to any type of trait that specifically increased an animal's (including obviously humans) reproductive fitness. There are plenty of examples in nature where a trait has no real survival value (and can actually inhibit survival) but increases an…
yup, pretty much this. beat me to it :P
Natural selection generally only occurs for traits that affect our fitness during the period of time that we would generally reproduce. Most men don't show significant signs of male-patterned baldness until their late 30s / 40s, well after the age when most people (historically anyway) were having kids. So it makes…
sorry, but no. that's like saying iOS4 no longer exists because iOS5 is out (or that 5 will no longer exist when 6 comes out). It's the next iteration that, granted, from a code standpoint is a shift but to the end-user they're inherently the same thing. The apps of WP7 will still run on WP8, WP8 will still generally…
from what I understand WP 7.8 is basically WP8 minus the features that can't work on older devices for various reasons. It's not like they're just getting nothing here, left alone without any upgrade at all. So yeah, I think there's a parallel there.
iphone 4 users would like to remind you about being screwed out of Siri...just sayin
haha, beat me to it. But exactly right, simply understanding the connections isn't going to really help us discover what makes up "emergent properties," as we call them (e.g. cognition). Rather, it's how cells process that information, both individually and in a network, that matters.
There's a group at Harvard doing something similar (maybe in conjunction with this group at CSH, not sure). It's interesting, for sure, and will certainly provide insights, but I wonder how much we'll gain from an actual full circuit diagram of the brain. The diversity we see across synapses is astounding, even when…
hahaha, seriously? go to any type of conference / talk / meeting / etc. and try to do word processing via voice input. Would love to see that...
