The impression I got from the Baum's original was the city looked like any other (mostly white) but appeared to be "Emerald" because the inhabitants were required to wear green shaded lenses. Even Toto ;-)

I am with Roger on this one. I was expecting to see his name in the credits as a concept designer. Roger didn't invent floating islands and dragons, but he invented a style that was obviously borrowed for Avatar.

Shutterstock isn't really the best source for fine CG. It's just a lot easier for Buzzfeed to go through them to license artwork than it is to seek out real artists.

Action cinema have always needed cannon fodder and zombies are about the only group left that you can feel good about watching die.

In all fairness, they only used space artwork that has been made available on Shutterstock. I've seem some pretty incredible space artwork out there (see Gary Tonge...)
