Glad everyone made it alright. Not sure yet how bad it got near where we would have stayed. Some other friends of ours had homes and condos badly damaged. We eneded up staying a long weekend in the Smokies and other than some rain on Saturday it was a great trip, especially for the youngin’.

We just saw the most recent forecast. It’s not looking good.

I called the ball, told the fam that I wasn’t risking it. Also, my wife’s sister tore a ligament in her foot, so now she’s not even sure she can go.

We may just end up going to NC beaches for a few days, OBX or Wrightsville-area. They’re supposed to get some

Your car is ready, Mr. Bond:

We were planning to go to my wife’s uncle’s condo in Ormond today (driving down from Ohio with an overnight stop in Savannah). Obviously, that’s not happening now.

Depending on how bad it gets, we may still try to go on Sunday or Monday. The wife and her sister desperately want to go, but they’re...let’s just say not

Not to mention the current crop of EVs will do poorly on the used market. You’re seeing that now with people who bought early hybrids selling them now...right before the batteries go bad.

Technology will surely improve, and it’s not reason NOT to go EV. But until the switchover is complete, expect a rocky road -

My absolute favorite rebadges are the ones where there is next to no effort made to differentiate between the models. Like, just a grille-and-tail-lights job, because changing the headlights costs too much money to federally certify.

I’m like most on this list, in that I keep a lot of stuff in my vehicle. Since I have a minivan with underfloor storage and a rear seat that stays folded, I have everything literally compartmentalized:

Anything brand new. I don’t care how responsible your teenager is, how high their GPA is and how many after-school volunteer organizations they belong to, they will break something on the car, if not the entire thing. You don’t have to be hooning the car to do it - I totaled my first car going less than 5mph. Yes, it

With a squared-off wheel like the C8s, and a redesign of the twin spokes, you could create a wheel that could change diameter, not just thickness and texture. Make the total diameter narrower for track days and wider for cruising. Electric steering means that it would adjust the rack ratio based on the setting.

The guy I just sold my wife’s car to for $300, that’s currently trying to flip it for $1200 on Marketplace, probably thinks that 1998 Toyota Corollas with 400K miles are a steal.

My SIL has a 2011 SEL and it’s a solid car. It’s plasticky inside, and early SYNC without a screen will make you want to punch the radio, but lots of “transition” infotainment systems from that era suck (looking at you, my 2014 Grand Caravan). But otherwise, it drives well and has been largely reliable for her other

I rented one a few years back, not really expecting much, but it was fantastic. I drove to Cincinnati and back along US 52, paralleling the Ohio River, which was a roughly six hour round trip. It was quite, handled like a much smaller car, and comfortable. It’s not a squeeze like the Taurus, and not as ostentatious as

Back in the halcyon days of my youth, I once aspired to find and fix up a late 1990s Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 because I was an idiot and felt that no one gave those sexy Japanese curves the love they deserved.

These days, I’d rather like to get ahold of a mid-1980s Chevrolet C10 pickup. I have many fond memories in the

Oh look, another vaguely-outdoorsy family CUV. It’s like an overweight dad with a scruffy beard who wears North Face jackets and Merrells but never goes outside.

...And I just described myself, so that’s probably why I want this.

The only thing faster than my buddy’s Mustang is a rental car.

Exactly. Ferrari wants their customers to buy this, not a Urus or DBX.

Ballers got to bring their friends. Make the point guard/kicker sit in the back.

The only new car auto show I’ve been to was in West Virginia. It was just one of those travelling deals, I think it might have been sponsored by Motor Trend or something like that. It was back in 2019 and it was...actually pretty cool. I got to see a lot of new vehicles in one place, sit in some interesting cars (the

A hasty road-side application of coat hanger wire is still holding up the muffler on my wife’s old Corolla some 12 years later.

At the beginning of 2021, I had a problem. Well, two problems:
