Would it be cynical to suggest that the producers realize these movies are a tax writeoff?

Todd, if you had to guess, would you think the show just doesn't have the writing or acting skill set to pull this kind of material off, or does Disney just realize it's not worth rocking the boat for a middling show that might have another season at best?

That's arguable, but if you base your judgement on what's critically respected, beloved, and enduring, the Toy Story franchise is the better project to be associated with.

I don't think he has it in him to be edgy or political; from what I've seen, it's almost an identical point of view from his Home Improvement days.

I would guess he's just fine with the show as it is.

Okay—I've listened to three eps of "Welcome to Night Vale" and it's definitely worth your while if you want a change of pace.
