Berryboot does all of this and is quite simple and intuitive to use as well. It also makes it super easy to backup OS installations and restore them to a default image. I encourage anyone interested in multiple OS’s on their Pis to check it out, too. They’re both great projects

If the process takes ~ 2 years to complete, I would probably advise against using any plastic storage materials like garbage bags - they tend to fall apart due to temperature and UV exposure over time (other factors can affect this as well)
