Completely agree about the Christmas/Halloween candy debate. I will say that Reese’s comes out with egg shaped peanut butter cups around Easter, which are superior to regular peanut butter cups because they don’t have that hard edge. I’m also a big fan of the specialty flavors that Ghirardelli and Lindt come out with

I mean...he’s not wrong. That’s one ugly car.

Saw Bumblebee, which as someone who didn’t grow up watching Transformers, and gave up on the Bay films after Transformers 2 because of their awfulness, I can say I thought the film was okay. TBH, I didn’t really care about the scenes with the Decepticons, thought some of the dialogue was super cheesy; but there was

So based on the trailer, it looks like Camille is a Brett Kavanaugh supporter. Great. :(

Tucker Carlson, Tucker Max. Yep, that checks out.

I’ve never seen Lolita. There’s a large part of me that has a hard time watching a film where a pedophile is the protagonist. I did start reading “The Real Lolita,” by Sarah Weinman. It’s an account of Sally Horner, an 11 year old girl who was kidnapped and held captive by a man for almost two years in the late 40s,

Saw Into the Spider-Verse, and The Favourite. Very different films, enjoyed both, want to see Spider-Verse again.

Most of what I read is work related, but I really enjoyed these:

“Any fond memories you may have of his music...”

Ali Wong isn’t (as least I don’t think she is), but they could make the character Filipino. The Philippines were a Spanish colony until the late 1800s, and Spanish last names (like Santos, Reyes, and Garcia) are common.

Is that Grimes in the photo with Musk, or is he posing with his two kids?

According to the other article, he wasn’t asked to come back, the producers told him that they were recasting.

New Greg did seem to pick up some of Old Greg’s speech patterns and mannerisms, but I still miss old Greg.

Well Green Book, The Favourite, and Dirty John both got noms, so I’m assuming all the voters got early screeners.

Now playing

I was hoping “Mandy,” would get a nom for best original score. I haven’t seen the film, but I started listening to the soundtrack last week, and it’s so moody and atmospheric.

Exactly! Beyonce dresses like she does because she’s Beyonce! It’s part of her style and persona, just like t-shirts are part of Sheehan’s style. Honestly, it would have been a hell of a lot weirder if he’d dressed up like Liberace.

That’s the way I read her comments too. It’s like finding out Marilyn Monroe wasn’t actually that much of a blond ditz (as she was portrayed in films), and in fact loved to read and was quite intellectual.

It definitely had a familiar vibe, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.

Picnic is a beautiful surreal film. Glad you got the chance to see it.

My babysitter had a painting with a girl in it, and I (5 or 6 at the time) used to think that she was trapped in there.
