Saw Into the Spider-Verse, and The Favourite. Very different films, enjoyed both, want to see Spider-Verse again.

Most of what I read is work related, but I really enjoyed these:

“Any fond memories you may have of his music...”

Ali Wong isn’t (as least I don’t think she is), but they could make the character Filipino. The Philippines were a Spanish colony until the late 1800s, and Spanish last names (like Santos, Reyes, and Garcia) are common.

Is that Grimes in the photo with Musk, or is he posing with his two kids?

According to the other article, he wasn’t asked to come back, the producers told him that they were recasting.

New Greg did seem to pick up some of Old Greg’s speech patterns and mannerisms, but I still miss old Greg.

Well Green Book, The Favourite, and Dirty John both got noms, so I’m assuming all the voters got early screeners.

I was hoping “Mandy,” would get a nom for best original score. I haven’t seen the film, but I started listening to the soundtrack last week, and it’s so moody and atmospheric.

Exactly! Beyonce dresses like she does because she’s Beyonce! It’s part of her style and persona, just like t-shirts are part of Sheehan’s style. Honestly, it would have been a hell of a lot weirder if he’d dressed up like Liberace.

That’s the way I read her comments too. It’s like finding out Marilyn Monroe wasn’t actually that much of a blond ditz (as she was portrayed in films), and in fact loved to read and was quite intellectual.

It definitely had a familiar vibe, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.

Picnic is a beautiful surreal film. Glad you got the chance to see it.

My babysitter had a painting with a girl in it, and I (5 or 6 at the time) used to think that she was trapped in there.

The part about the little girl getting stuck in the painting always stuck with me.

I keep getting this kid mixed up with eyebrow guy (Charlie Puth?).

I don’t the exact measurements, but my cousin makes a punch with apple cider, white wine, brandy, and sprite, and it’s amazing.

I also like to throw in Addams Family Values. I still don’t know why a summer camp would be putting on a production of a Thanksgiving play, but Wednesday’s monologue is my everything.

*somehow

For me, this show is like “Twin Peaks,” in some ways. If you try to explain the plot of the episodes they sound absolutely bonkers (there was one involving a plot line about flinging a cow from a trebuchet.) Yet, when you watch, it someone works.
