The notion that entire, sentient races are naturally predisposed to certain levels of intelligence, or moral alignments, is baked into the game. That’s not the same as talking about “good and bad sides”.

The problem is there is no fix for this broken pipe, at least not yet. All we CAN do is tape it up until we CAN fix it. We can’t let people go homeless because they’re out of work (or can’t run their own businesses) because they’re being locked down.

It was always going to get worse. The point of the lockdown was to keep the strain off the hospitals. Most hospitals are back to pre-corona levels so now we can open things back up slowly and the hospitals won’t be overloaded. If they start getting overloaded we cinch back down again for a bit.

I can’t figure out if they’re some of the dumbest executives around or if a whole bunch of complicated licensing deals means they won’t have full control of their IP for a few more years and don’t want to admit it.

I already have HBO, so it didn’t bother me too much.  But I was a little perplexed when my brand new streaming service launched with a section for movies that are leaving the brand new streaming service in a month.  Many of those were selling points for the brand new streaming service.

Same thing they do when restaurants are open, I imagine - spend 95% of their time networking and angling for their next position, 4% of their time telling other people to make the company work better, and 1% of their time throwing out wild blue-sky business model ideas with no basis in the reality of the marketplace.

I’ve been making my own tortillas lately as well using Maseca. I’ve only done it three times so far, so I’m hardly an expert, but the trick I’ve found to making them not brittle at all is to wrap them well in a kitchen towel and let them sit for a while that way, they steam together and soften nicely.
