From what I've seen of the BRZ, A lot of the Impreza/WRX stuff fits even on the front suspension. The biggest single change appears to be that they moved the engine/trans back a few inches because they didn't have to work around the front driveshafts.
I probably should have pointed out at some point that I own two of these cars currently. a 1984 Trans am being used as a donor car for a 1986 Firebird. TPI admittedly wasn't any worse than anything else at the time. It seems like it was mostly just designed to give more low end torque which can be felt when driving…
Yes they are aerodynamic, but the unibody frames were rather flimsy, and Tuned Port, Crossfire, and Throttle Body injection aren't really that amazing.
Trans Am was slightly more 80s. Reasons include" T-tops, digital gauges, pop-up lights, gold lace wheels, and it was even offered with a turbo. This version included fairly large gold "TURBO" badges. There was also the notchback conversion that made at least 5 people confuse it with the Ferrari 512TR. There was also…
425 Gross HP. So it was basically what Chrysler guessed it was if you got rid of any losses. I believe it was 350 net horsepower. Net being the standard used today. Also these numbers I believe are for the highest output version of the engine available, which I doubt would find it's way into a station wagon. It's…
I still think the worst police markings I've seen have to be the black Westmoreland PD cars with full markings in dark grey. And they park in the shade at the bottom of a hill.
Pretty sure the '89 my mom had had the same unit in it back in 2004.
Pretty sure a V6 2nd gen is just a slow as a 4 cylinder 3rd gen, and the 4 cylinder 3rd gen handles a lot better.
Jeep was originally slang based on the acronym GPV, or General Purpose Vehicle. It can be a jeep without being a Jeep.
Sometimes I don't understand how people think these are big, but then I remember that I took my driver's test in an '04 Suburban and my first car was a '89 D350 dually. My perspective is probably a bit skewed.
17mpg is about average for a Vortec 350 in most vehicles as far as I know. Though something like a Suburban driven with a heavy foot could easily bring that number down.
I seem to recall reading that Jaguar had the same thing on the later XJS but it could cause the catalytic converters to catch fire in the event that it actually happened.
Some of the hobby scale RC people get pretty crazy. These actually aren't all that impressive compared to some I've seen.
Pretty sure the T56 found in 4th gen F-bodies has an internal gate. Does that count?
Basically the same logic I apply to my French-American hatchback on stilts.
I don't think so, the last thing I remember seeing him in was Justified, before that was that Walking Tall remake. Basically the same wealthy criminal jackass in both roles.
It seems like my family has always had at least one GM product at any given time. The most recent being an '04 Suburban where the biggest issue was that one of the vents in the headliner fell out. It got replaced by an '08 Expedition, which is a lot worse to drive, drinks more, falls apart at an alarming rate(things…
