Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was perfectly fine in Fury Road. It's not her fault that she had to fill the standard personality-free masturbation template apparently required for Transformers and it's ilk.

Schumer, not Poehler.

The A.V Club commentariat just watches the show to rip it to shreds, eh? I thought it was…just fine in an amusing for the moment but forgotten tomorrow kinda way. Good enough for me.

Cool girl

As a german I'm a bit embarrassed this was chosen over Victoria for the oscar race (with the idiotic reason that there's not enough german dialogue in Victoria). Judged by our oscar contenders, the rest of the world probably thinks 90% of our movies are stale nazi stories (when it's actually just 50% or something).

I haven't seen much variety in the reviews. It's uniformly well received and rightfully so.

Kind of funny. The A.V. Club happily jumped on the critical bash bandwagon when Born To Die was released and stayed on it for Ultraviolence, although everyone else pretty much agreed that it's very good. Now that their opinion of her isn't in line anymore with the critical consesus and she turned out to be an artist

Another disappointment besides the new Chvrches record. They exchanged the great, heavy hitting, soulful dance stuff of their debut with atmospheric R'n'B that isn't all that danceable and sounds like a lot of other stuff on the airwaves right now. A disappointingly indistinct record. Settle pushed the mainstream in

This is a big step down from their debut. Seriously, it's basically a bunch of "Bones…"-B-sides lacking the effortlessly catchy and sweeping songwriting of that record.

Yes, we absolutely need to see the whole life of this character from his birth to his death, at least one movie for every life phase. In fact, we not only need this treatment for all of the characters in Sicario but for every character that ever existed and appeared in a commercially successful story, because the

Exploiting people's private lives is okay as long as you do it ironically. Got it.

What? He did change the chord progression and they are sad.

Start with Love is Hell, Heartbreaker and Gold.

A really nice surprise indeed. Swift's melodies and lyrics suit him very well, especially when he's able to transform them, turning peppy tunes like "I Wish You Would" or (the originally pretty boring) "How To Get The Girl" into wistful reflections, revealing the sadness was there all along. It doesn't always work.

Apparently I'm the only one here who thinks "a serious case of viral meningitis" isn't the right occasion to crack jokes.

The Unauthorized A.V. Club Story
Let's make this happen.

The review doesn't answer the only important question regarding this movie: Do we get some Michael Ealy man-ass?

Reading this makes me very sad for these people.

What I really want is the silent version. I can't just create that myself.

Non-narcissistic move? He probably forces the kids to shoot the James Franco biopic because no producer wanted to greenlight it.
