Thanks. That was an interesting read. I had never heard of “Yes means yes”.

This might be helpful if you’re truly interested.

It means dismantling the power structures—governmental, legal, societal—that privilege men and marginalize women and non-binary people.

I think part of the problem is that the films have never dug particularly deep into what “turning to the dark side” really means.

As far as Princess Leia getting her title, I get what you mean. It’s the kind of thing where it was given to her originally and then they went in a different direction ultimately with the story and they found an awkward way to address it. Much like Obi-Wan not remembering R2, Yoda not actually being the one who

The problem is no matter how good the actor may be(and Portman can act when given a good script), It wont fix how stupid the character was in the prequels. Not intellectual stupid but just who she was and what she did. Its like Lucas didn’t know how the fuck governments worked and was just writing himself in circles.

{Spoilers, maybe?}

“I think the universe is telling me to kill you now”

Bart was probably my favorite character.

I completely agree with you on representation. I also like how there’s an implicity/occasionally explicit romantic relationship between Todd and Farrah, but it’s treated as completely incidental to the plot, whereas most shows would try to focus in on that. It’s a very different way to treat an on-screen

AV Club’s reviewer hated this show last season, and then didn’t review it at all this season. Dirk Gently was so good it made me like the AV Club a little less.

Sad upvote.

That’ll be the third time BBC have cancelled Dirk Gently...

I’m no Tumblr Fanboy, but this is one of the better shows to grace our screens in recent years.

Damn, I really wanted them to save the Universe. All my favourite shows are dying this year. At least thanks to Disney Agents of SHIELD survived for another year. I know it was complicated, confusing puzzle of a show that meant it’d probably do better on a binge watch friendly internet service. You only

It wasn’t like Adams’s books but it was good.

That’s because it wasn’t. It was better.

I’m putting the blame squarely on AV Club for dumping episodic reviews of season 2 by the way.

No love for this show?
