This all day. I and several of my friends are thrifters and volunteer at thrift stores/charities. There is always, always way too much and they end up having to pay to throw so much away - which is a fast fashion and American consumer problem. It’s not like reselling food from a food bank - clothing is nonperishable…

Tik tokkers reselling thrift store items isn’t going to cause a shortage of anything except  used Fiesta ware.  If you’ve ever been to a Salvation army you would realize there are THOUSANDS of clothes and no way someone like this is going to cause a shortage.

your take makes zero sense. by definition these resellers are buying a tiny fraction of the stuff at thrift stores. if they were buying most of the stuff there they wouldn’t be turning a profit. if someone in need goes to a thrift store they will find plenty of stuff, maybe a few of the super cute / interesting items…
