Good god, this is dumb. If the company agrees with you, then all they have to do is ignore the criticism coming their way. We have no way to *make* them care about important things, and you suggesting they deserve a free pass because they haven’t broken any laws (that you know of) is fucking asinine.

How is that “the same thing?” The only way those two things are equivalent is if you’re such a massive coward that the very idea of any consequences at all stops you from speaking.

It’s an interesting question! The discussion starts out pretty simply most of the time. If you want to tread into potentially offensive territory, look for who has the power in a situation and target them. Comedy is strongest when de-fanging a villain, not joining the other bullies, so avoid targeting marginalized

Chappelle claims that festivals won’t consider his documentary. But the consequence he doesn’t like seems to be getting asked about the issue, being asked to defend himself, or being invited to learn more about the trans experience. I agree: pretty minor stuff for a multi-millionaire to be acting so aggrieved.

Literally every speaking human has an accent, dipshit. Trumpeting your ignorance of what a particular accent signifies makes you look like a racist scumbag. If that’s not what you’re going for, maybe just Google information like this instead of showing your ass.

They actually named their company “Notorious” - how can you NOT write this article when they’re trying to evoke an edgy, careless attitude with the very first thing people know about them?

Can you articulate what it is about starting a new business that means you shouldn’t be scrutinized for your business practices? In my experience, that’s one of the BEST times to be extremely thoughtful and seek alternate viewpoints, because your business culture hasn’t calcified yet.

As an actual comedian, we talk about punching up vs down *all the time.* The only comedians who DON’T care about that discussion are unrepetant assholes.

That’s exactly what he wants you to think. Look at the slate of things he’s “just asking questions about” and you’ll see it’s pretty exclusively things that selfish assholes try to justify to avoid accountability.

I saw Douglas live in Chicago, and holy shit was it funny. Chappelle invoking Gadsby in this way just confirmed he’s completely lost whatever sense of humor he once had.

Ah, you’re arguing in bad faith - why didn’t you say so? Stop torturing your kids for no good reason and let them read books, you fucking wacko.

What the hell? Of course it isn’t! I struggle to understand by what measure you would consider reading books to be “screen time.”

The ratio on this post should really hit home for you how far from reality you’ve strayed. You really want to be out here stanning for the Greek life cult?

Wow, so insightful. Definitely keep us posted.

I hate to tell you this, but an incel douchebag walking around quoting Socrates doesn’t have a lot of credibility when they complain about other people being annoying.

What a childish idea. So much of humanity’s greatest art has been intended to provoke anger.

But... if you do nothing about the wound, you’ll never clean all the blood off the floor until the person has no blood left. What’s the point of cleaning up a tiny fraction of plastic at great expense (and carbon emitted) if we’re going to continue dumping orders of magnitude more in?

My recollection is that it wasn’t public at first. Unless he announced his involvement when the lawsuit was served, I’d say the statement is accurate.

Drop a container in water anywhere. Tada! It’s already hosting an ecosystem, because all water everywhere is already an ecosystem. Organisms both micro and macro don’t know what “trash” is - every single discarded container offers shelter to something.

LSD does NOT make you violent. That’s an absurd idea. Source: personal experience dropping acid.
