Mass shootings are terrible, but the odds of being affected by one are vanishingly small compared to much more mundane fears. If you’re going to worry about something “every day,” worry about death in an auto accident, which is MUCH more common.

What a surprise that a racist troll doesn’t know how to spell “per capita.” Fuck off, dumbshit.

Wow, that’s incredibly stupid reasoning. You’re really plumbing the depths of idiocy here, man. Fucking sad.

Use your fucking brain. You’re on a blog, not the New York Times. Does the piece express opinions? It’s an opinion piece. Do you label your toothbrush at home so you don’t accidentally scrub your ass with it? Fuck. Morons.

The story here is that Tesla refuses to release any specific data on how safe autopilot is (or isn’t). That’s worth reporting and discussing.

Yeah, I understand that. But that’s not AT ALL how their marketing materials portrayed it. If they didn’t engage in deceptive marketing practices, why did they remove the phrase I referenced from their website after it was pointed out?

What part of this in particular do you disagree with? And why do YOU trust whatever Elon Musk decides to tell you?

I understand that. OP said “Tesla never stated that autopilot is a fully functional piece” - “full self-driving hardware” comes AWFULLY close for the regular consumer. It’s extremely deceptive advertising, and it’s exactly what they’re being sued over.

That’s not what they said on their website (until recently). They said it was equipped with “full self-driving hardware.”

This is an opinion piece, dawg, not a newspaper article. You should be ashamed of yourself for being a shitty reader.

Look in the mirror, my friend: YOU are the reason we’ve got Trump. Stop sacrificing ideals on the altar of fake “pragmatism.”

I said nothing about “Southern states” - maybe you meant to reply to someone else? My point is the same regardless of who came up with. It was a compromise that only had utility when it was first proposed.

“The eye just can’t be fooled.”

Gossip about Silicon Valley. It was the site that first drew Peter Thiel’s attention and, ultimately, lead to Gawker’s demise.

“to prevent the small densely populated area’s from dictating how the geographic majority of the country functions”

Because people are morons, by and large.

That doesn’t get into the “why,” though. Is it for the sake of the operating system? The battery? I’m not a big fan of “maintenance” activities that don’t have a very clear reason for them.

“It’s a good idea to power cycle your phone/tablet every week or so”

You are suggesting a course of action, though, aren’t you? Suggesting they don’t make things you don’t want to see. My question is: why not just skip them, then? Why does it ruin Star Wars for you if they make Expanded Universe-style decisions that you won’t even read/watch?

There’s zero chance they spent $275 million on marketing for Solo. But even if they did - if you’re counting marketing in the costs for it, then you have to also include merchandise, DVD/Blu-ray sales, and streaming licensing fees in the profits. It surely more than broke even at that point, if we’re just speculating
