This argument is garbage, and it’s garbage for one very specific reason: the studio itself isn’t looking to make a new property. They are looking to cash in on an already existing franchise, with widespread recognition. This isn’t some new IP that’s getting taken through the ringer, this is the deliberate

But Zelda *is* releasing on it. And I’m about sick of people saying the Wii U has no games. Two of the best selling games (on any console) for this year were Wii U exclusives (Star Fox Zero and TP HD). Splatoon was one of the most critically and commercially successful new IPs released on any console last year

I doubt it’ll be inferior. They’ve been developing it for upwards of 5 years *for* the Wii U. If anything, it’ll be like TP for the GameCube (the better version). Also, chozo_hybrid is right that buying a console for an unreleased game is a bad bet. But don’t worry. The Wii U has a bunch of cool first party Nintendo

I think he was speaking to the quality of the game, not the system’s commercial performance. Saying “It’s like Twilight Princess all over again” makes Zelda Wii U sound like it could be as good or better than Twilight Princess (which, in most people’s opinions, was an A1 Zelda game).
