Finding a specialist that will treat you effectively is far too challenging a problem and we think about that every day at Amino.
This is a very important topic to bring up, though I don’t know if I have all the answers. The trusted relationship between a patient and their doctor should be based solely on medical evidence but unfortunately bias can exist in every area of our lives.
Sorry to hear you had such a terrible experience! Missing a diagnosis or going too long with the wrong diagnosis can be extremely frustrating and possibly very painful.

Finding a good PCP is very different than finding a specialist, like @horse-pony’s suggestion below. “Good” means something different to everyone, so it’s hard to have one definitive answer.
