The Nissan Tiida (not sure what this steaming  pile of automotive misery is called in the USA, and I’m not ruining my perfectly good Wikipedia search history to look it up). This awful little car came after the not so awful Nissan Pulsar (Sentra/Almera). This car was suppossed to compete with the Corolla, Mazda3, Ford

Yes

I like the part about “vents” directing cool air into your face when the “heater” is on. Actually its a Rover so the heater is malfunctioning from the factory, but its British Leyland so we will call it a “feature.” Either that or there’s just a hole somewhere they didn’t bother to fill.

Hmmm... the Lineartronic CVT in my outback - despite being the best CVT still sucks and steals any and all engagement from the car. The DSG in my wife’s VW Polo makes what would otherwise be a dull little hatch into a fun little city car, but what would be even more funnerer is a manual! I never thought I would say

Apparently I can set a key code on my Outback using the rear door lock button, but in true Japanese style its not - activate in infotainment. Its lock passenger door, stick tongue out. Unlock with key fob. press start button while opening rear opposite door while doing a dance... I just wrap the key in two zip lock

I miss this, our old Toyota Highlander had this, our Subaru Outback does not. All wagons should do this!

Never had a power window fail (well one, that was the result of a bad repair job after my car was broken into), but I recall my dad constantly repairing the crank window on my mums Ford in the early 90s.

So I used to hate the 911... then I turned 30, they started looking good. Whats wrong with me!

How does this not have more stars????!!!!

My first car had no cup holder, but two ashtrays - one was enormous! In fact by removing the enormous ash tray I had a single cup holder.

I don’t understand. What’s the difference between this and the Q2? Never mind if I can’t be bothered looking it up, you shouldn’t either...

I lived in Australia for nearly 5 years and have never seen one in the wild. That makes me sad. Also I want one (may be moving back will have to look for one).

That’s a Navara, not a Frontier. That version has had massive issues in the UK, South Africa and Australia. In the UK they rust in some bad spots and in Australia and South Africa they can’t take the punishment and loads people expect of them. It’s fun to google, sucks if it’s your truck

Are you serious? “Taxes are inherently good”???!!! What the actual heck have you been smoking?! Taxes always hurt the worst off in society the most. They are all regressive and unfairly harm those they say they will protect. The moment you tax something you make it more expensive. Am I saying that we should eradicate

They use a different check engine light

Ha! I saw a town cube yesterday! I even pointed it out to my wife! I thought it was some sort of weird Nissan Pao-esque thing until I saw the badge. Unfortunately I was in a hurry so I didn’t stop to work out what it was. We get lots of weird JDM stuff in New Zealand

There is only one ok suggestion here - David’s. You are in college. Do not spend $15k on a car! Shit spend $3k on a corolla! It’s all you need! You have the rest of your life to buy a good car!

I’m sorry. But no. No you can’t. If you are stupid enough to give your car away for nothing, then that’s your issue. You always have one up on a car dealer. Especially if you are buying something run of the mill, like an Elantra. You screwed up. Deal with it.

My son will be getting a manual corolla. It will be old and used. Given he is 13 years off being able to drive the new corolla that’s about to launch looks like it will do the trick quite nicely. And he will be damn well grateful to be getting a car. Why the hell do parents shell out such extraordinary amounts of
