I really on use mine on gravel or the beach and it’s pretty good, but I do wonder how much better it would be in the dunes with all terrains... I don’t really want to spend the money on something that will hardly get used

Please badger them about making it right hand drive. I really want one of these to replace my outback. They have 3 years to do this otherwise I’ll be getting a Toyota Highlander at this rate, and I’d rather have a Subaru

Oh god! that looks even worse! What has been googled can’t be un-googled!

I had one of these (actually I think it was two, maybe three?? I don’t remember) as a company car. The 7 seat model. It had an OK 2.2 diesel engine and a gearbox of some sort, it was automatic. The seats were hard and were luciously equipped with partial leather (vinyl) and one of them, must have been the last one I

Gearbox aside I really like my Outback! Yes it could do with more power, but it is actually ok. Its hardly a racing car! And as for burning down the backroads, I have never ever had a car, nor have I driven a car that is at home on rough roads as the Outback

Also add in the case of the CVT in my Outback “soul destruction”

No! That’s how I lost one! That’s why if no tether I put it on the pump! In my dads old Hilux I just drop it onto the tray, that way if I do forget I’ll see it at a later point in time

So the lowest octane available in New Zealand and Australia is 91, 95 & 98 are readily available as the premium. I don’t recall anything lower than 91 being offered since they phased out lead based fuel in late 80’s

so you tap the lock button on the door hear the doors lock but don’t trust the sound. This sounds like a case of “I don’t like change!”

Don’t most cars beep when you walk away from them with the keys in and engine running? Also traditional keys are silly, I walk up to my car open the door and drive. I don’t have to find the right key, fumble for the unlock button find the keyhole and then go. It becomes so second nature that when I get in my wife’s

Ah that’s what an automatic does. I’d always wondered about that

I worry about this on my wife’s car... if the tether thing breaks there’s no convenient little slot to put the cap like there is on my car and I totally would just leave the cap on the pump...

Whats worse is unplanned trips to the hardware store! Like where do you put the car seat when you have all this crap you didn’t know you needed???! (obviously don’t have kid with me!) Normally I can leave the car seat at home if I know I will be folding down the rear seat.

Trucks are one of the cars, that I fully support taking an extended loan out as their depreciation isn’t as bad as passenger car

Unless you think you are genuinely going to keep your car for eight years - which most of these borrowers won’t they will be so upside down even 5 years into it and their car will be effectively worthless anyway. Are there responsible lending laws in the US, or is it totally unregulated?

In all fairness I don’t think Land Rover was truly fixed until Tata bought it... Although I love the Discovery 4!

Oh absolutely! Daimler was far far worse!

We test drove a Liberty (Cherokee in our market) and I am still totally gob smacked as to how they managed such awful space utilisation in a car that was by all accounts not small. Add to that the horrific fuel consumption and glacial acceleration, it was a big fat NO. I happily paid $10k more to get into a base model

Remember BMW did the same thing with Rover and Land Rover...
