If you mean as an independent entity, then you are correct. If Puerto Rico becomes a state then you have to consider that door closed forever. There is no mechanism for a US state to leave the union. We even had a civil war over that point*. That doesn’t mean we can’t pass an amendment to set up a secession mechanism,

Puerto Rico has two official languages - Spanish and English. The official languages of Guam are English and Chamorro (the native language of the people of the Mariana Islands).

Some states to have English as an “official language.” But that is about as meaningful as having an “official flower.” The First Amendment protects freedom of speech, and that includes the language that a person chooses to speak in.

Hey, the other half might still be walking around!

Wait a minute. Are we sure this kind of calm de-escalation is even allowed on the internet?”

They may need to use the Jaws of Life to remove the, uh ... are there jaws on that thing?

“first time I am first to comment here...”

I will die beside you on that hill.

I absolutely prefer milk with my spaghetti and red sauce too. But not to the point where I wouldn’t eat it without milk. Like I wouldn’t ask for milk at a restaurant. But like you, I would prefer soda or lemonade, or even water if I was having anything else with tomatoes. I don’t know why, but for some reason certain

I don’t have nearly as many issues with food textures now than I did as a kid. I’m almost 53 now. I remember as a kid I couldn’t stand the texture of tomatoes in sandwiches or anything like that. But tomato sauce or tomato juice were fine. But now I love tomatoes on anything.

And don’t forget Lee “God Bless the USA” Greenwood!

Poppy seed rolls are also good for breakfast sandwiches.

I mentioned Reamde because it looks like “Fall: or Dodge in Hell” is something of a sequel. Though maybe that’s not the right word, since it does sound like a completely different story. There may be very little narrative connection between the two except that Richard “Dodge” Forthrast is a main character in both.

“Did you read Neil Stephenson’s new one? omg is it bad.”

They named the band after the homemade peyote preserves made by Eddie Veder’s grandmother, Pearl.

Now playing

I loved the openings for all three seasons of True Detective. Between the music and the visuals, they were just so damn atmospheric. They were just a great way to get in the mood for the show.

Shut up and take my money!!

It’s happened at both places. Though it was black Secret Service agents who were denied service at Denny’s.

What a load of shist!

I wouldn’t throw away all that food. Some I might keep if it was something I’d like anyway. But the rest I would deliver somewhere they could use it. Does Antwerp not have food kitchens where poor and/or homeless people can get something to eat?
