Hydrogen peroxide: scrub the rug hard, circularly, with any nubby cloth, such as an old heavyweight washcloth. Or one of those nice Method cloths for applying granite polish. Peroxide really really works on organic boo-boos!

In the past I used a dedicated pet stain remover where you soak it, then scrub, then repeat until it’s all gone. If the odor still lingers, mix up half vinegar and half water and soak the stain. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, then soak it up. After that, cover the area in a lot of baking soda and let it sit…
