@ophmarketing: As can any of the web based tools. I've used both Turbo Tax and H&RBlock on OSX and Linux.

@Warbrain: Only if you do an EZ filing. That's only possible if you take the "standard deduction". That immediately leaves home owners out.
Seriously? Turbotax? Nearly the same product as H&R Block, but Block gives you access to historical data without paying to retrieve it, and free audit support!
I use Ubuntu without a taskbar. Instead, I use ctrl-alt-z to trigger a compiz plugin called "Scale" which is similar to OSX expose'. I can choose the window I want with either the arrow keys or the mouse. Much faster and more useful than a bunch of icons with two characters of text.
@(Starman) 258, Brigadier-General of the FireWire Battalion: The problem is that, while H.264 is royalty free today, that fee is only waived for another dozen months or so. And, when the time is up, we have no idea how much it'll cost to implement an encoder or a decoder.
@Nitrokart knows CPR and took that guy's wallet: But, somehow Totem, Mplayer, et al. all remain free. The reason is that the video codecs are separate from the players. Can't Firefox just be another player with support for third-party codecs?
@jokono: Yep
@korrupt9187: The trick is Javascript. The same way Google Docs/Wave/Gmail and all the [Zoho.com] stuff and this commodore 64 emulator work:
There is a much better way to play HTML5 H.264 video in Firefox:
Thanks for not breaking my ability to read RSS feeds offline.
@relyk5: Mozillazine has a nice page on gmail's broken IMAP implementation:
@FalconFour: I use my own domain for any non-digital record of my e-mail so I have the ability to change providers. Using a gmail address on a resume is just as bad for the exact same reason.
That looks a lot like the "Disk Usage Analyzer" that comes with Ubuntu. Here are more graphical Linux tools:
I put up some instructions for setting up a vanilla Pidgin installation with Facebook - included is a screenshot of the configuration:
@klinquist: I second Evernote! Making them instantly search-able is a "game changer". Scanning and searching even work from my Android handset.
@terabitten: Thunderbird has had Threaded conversations longer than gMail has even existed. Outlook too.
Vote: Shutterfly
@cipheroid: Except, AOL is the only mail provider who has a REAL IMAP implementation! Not even Gmail can handle IMAP folders properly.
@relyk5: AOL has an incredibly powerful IMAP/SMTP server. I know a lot of people in technology who use AOL specifically because it has a REAL IMAP IMPLEMENTATION. Gmail's is a total hack. With IMAP I can choose my own interface: Outlook, Thunderbird, mutt, etc.
Anybody with a prejudice against an AOL address is a sheep!
