I don't mean the following as an attack on you, but for the second time in this thread, I'm reminded of a quote from Christopher Hitchens: "I don't love my enemies; that's why I think Christianity is immoral. Go love your own fucking enemies, don't be loving mine."

I fondly recall the words of Christopher Hitchens, when interviewed the day Jerry Falwell died: "If you gave (him) an enema, he could be burried in a matchbox".

If I believed in a loving God, I'd imagine he said to Satan today "One for you, and one for me".

Actually, that's what I thought as well…. but other people here remember differently, I guess, and I just assumed I was wrong.

When Sy was forced to drink Varga's urine, I'm sure we were all reminded of the first episode of Gomorrah.

This was a review… and a pretty good one. If you're looking for recaps, they're only a google search away.

Seriously… how long do I have to watch this show before Stan finds Gale Boetticher's copy of Leaves of Grass in the Jennings' bathroom?

Oh Lydia oh Lydia, say have you met Lydia?
Lydia, the Tattooed Lady

Thank you so much… I'll be watching it tonight based on the reviews I've seen here. Honestly, I never would have otherwise.

That's very much for the detailed response. I look forward to trying it tomorrow.

I do insist. And thank you… I'll be giving it a shot.

I would love a few opinions here, comrades. I've been hearing great things about this show, and very much enjoy multiple actors who are in it. However, I've always found comic book movies/tv shows incredibly silly and dull, with the only exception being Shyamalan's Unbreakable. Is there any chance I'll enjoy this?

If not 'callously', how would you prefer thinking people disregard the divine (and believers)?

You just wait until tomorrow and watch Better Call Saul. That, or head over to Denmark (Borgen, The Legacy, Follow the Money) for your TV viewing, making a quick stop in Italy (Gomorrah, 1992),

Frasier.

I was being facetious initially, at the thought of 'Asian' now being considered offensive. Though now recalling the Big Lebowski quote in question, I retract my sarcastic comment. Alas, sometimes you eat the bar and sometimes, well, the bar eats you.

Ooooohhhhh, OK… a 'bunker', not a 'banker'. Cause it made sense to want a banker in Gstaad… but who wants a banker in Wyoming?

As 'claudewc' said, we have no reason to think that he's American, as yet. But the fact that you would just assume that he is, is both prejudiced and downright repulsive.

Please don't make a habit of reminding people of that. It's like telling small children there's no Santa Clause.

This conversation was the literary equivalent of jazz. The participants were enjoying themselves far more than their audience.
