Hrmmm...I kind of feel like the heroes lose in FFVI, as much as they do here. Maybe moreso, because the destroyed world is left to suffer for a year until the heroes return, apparently the only ones able to save it. In FFXIV, the world actually restores itself for the most part.

I liked it, too.  I like Jon Spaihts's writing in general.
