2012 Impreza driver here, I usually beat the EPA fuel economy by 1-2 mpg. I don't drive with economy as a goal, so I guess it's my car.

Some idiots think it looks cool.

Flip those handlebars around the right way, get some tires that fit in the frame, and you'll have a decent cheap city bike.

Well, that's certainly a disturbing image.

Edit: responded to wrong post.

I heard about this study on NPR during my commute to work this morning. During the segment, the person behind me in an SUV was driving aggressively, not using their signals, and talking on a cell phone. But it was a BWM, so I don't know if it was the SUV factor or the BWM factor causing their asshole driving.

Dammit, you beat me.

Also, alphabetically speaking, Model S is a whole lot closer to Model T than Model E is.

Re. Tranny: There was an article on Jalopnik a while back about a company that makes electric beetles with manual transmissions. Lower gears get you better acceleration, higher gears increase your top speed. Apparently leaving it in 2nd or 3rd all the time generally works.

I've had bears cross the street in front of me a few times, but I've always had enough time to stop. Also I've always been in a car, so I probably would've been okay anyway.

I didn't even have to squint to think they were flying saucers.

Average lifespan is around 4000 weeks (80 years or so). Blowing up golf courses wouldn't dramatically increase anyone's risk of dying. Plenty of people would stop golfing anyway, because golfers are a bunch of pussies.

Looks alright to me. The helicopter stayed well above all the nearby obstacles.

Yeah, I'm not sure exactly what size those wheels are, since I've got no sense of scale in the photo. But they sure ain't 12's.

It's one of a kind!

I voted a very tentative NP. Can't really make a call until we know more details about that "front end shunt".

This article implies that it's available with the DSG, but I didn't see anything about manual not being an option. Current generation Golf R is manual only.

But I really like the rims and the sleekness of the body
