I’m happy to see one of these articles go up so far in advance of a launch. Hopefully key decision makers take a read, do an honest accounting of where they are/where they want to be, gauge fan feedback, and get the ship steadied well before launch.

Great article Jason! Just because the end result was a success (Inquisition) doesn’t mean the process didn’t need improvement. Here’s hoping for a solid new Dragon Age without anxious and depressed employees suffering behind the scenes...

This is absolute rubbish. Not everything has to be inclusive.

But every game isn’t for everybody. They don’t add hardcore modes to kid games to entice more skilled gamers. I have a friend who lost one hand, they don’t play most shooters because it’s hard to control your camera and movement with one hand, but they’re not claiming all games should offer one handed control schemes.

There is a difference between difficult and just being lazy. If “inclusive” separates people who are willing to take their time and spend more than 15 minutes trying to figure something in a game from tose who want get their hand held throughout the gaming experience - then inclusion is absolutely better. Soulsborne

I do agree that “an easier mode” is not going to alter the core of the gameplay and let more people able to play and enjoy it. The summon ability was a godsend on other Soulsborne games and let average player have a chance at getting to the finish line - as well as making expert players feel good to be able to help

I would say that variety of games is what gives the genre accessibility. Gaming being a highly accessible pastime is because there are millions of games that cater to millions of different interests and play styles.

If video games are art, how can you demand that the artist change their vision to fit the consumer? It makes no sense. If something is intended to be experienced one way and one way alone, bummer.

The experience is kinda...the difficulty though.

There are two issues here:

There are so many games out there, Joshua. This one just isn’t for you, and that’s okay. It doesn’t need to bend over backwards with an easy mode.

We have an exclusive shot of the officer in charge of this organized crime fighting operation:

“Hi I’m Bear Grylls and Wel-”

There better be a “drink my own piss” button.

Stephanie Flowers is a perfect example of why downballot races matter so much. City councils and statehouses are where we can shut down bad policy in the womb and put a real check on power. I wish everyone watching that video would find one local race to pay attention to and a local candidate to support. These are the

“What the hell you gonna do? Shoot me?”

This is basically click bait. Initially it makes it seems like the guy just stole some shoes. In fact, I was expecting it to read that he ran off after trying on the shoes. However, the involvement of a gun changes everything. Once a gun is pulled, it could just as easily been a murder. 5 years is probably too long,

After reading the headline, I came here all ready to get riled up about the racist system, but this dude did an armed robbery. You brought a dude with a gun with you. And before somebody say “he didn’t know”, how he gonna say that the shoes are “took” if he wasn’t making it clear that he had no intention of giving
